This review is for the Starbucks that is located inside of the Fred Meyer grocery store. I don’t purchase these drinks very often, so it is a nice treat when I do. I normally order iced tea, but I decided to get one of my favorite frappuccino’s.

This Starbucks is located inside the Newport Fred Meyer. We enjoy having coffee there. One nice thing is you can first go back to the Fred Meyer bakery and purchase cinnamon rolls or scones or donuts and enjoy them with your Starbucks coffee. The Starbucks folks don’t mind a bit. Great deal! And afterwards you can pick up any grocery, household or clothing shopping you might need.

We waited over 15 minutes at the counter while Natalya trained another employee. Unbelievable. Starbucks, you need to train your workers when they are NOT open to the public.

They messed up making a half sweet caramel latte. That does not bode well for their abilities. At least for the people that are on staff at midday on Sundays.

Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks. The food and drinks are always the same. Only the barristas change and can make a difference. These were average.

A nice causal place to sit and enjoy a hot chocolate or coffee with you favorite person. No table service makes it more relaxed and let’s you take your time.

I just wanted to share the lovely interaction I had with Kevin, the barista that served me, while on a brief visit to the Newport, Oregon coast. Not only did he make a wonderful cold brew with cream, but our short conversation at the counter and his calm, kind demeanor and smile made my already wonderful trip more memorable. I walked in one morning for coffee and we started a short conversation (no one else was in line at the time) about my visit to the coast, while he made my coffees. He was so kind and made my day in that brief interaction, that I went back the next morning for more coffees and to briefly continue our conversation. Just a reminder that the people that are serving us are just as important and human as any one of the customers. You never know what someone has gone/is going through. I needed his kindness at least as much as I needed that wonderful coffee. Always choose kindness.

Normally I really enjoy my Starbucks experience. However, this location has some of the rudest staff who act more like you’re an inconvenience than a benefit to the business. Young heavy set woman with a ponytail and shaved sides of the head is by far the rudest. I’d love to say more, but I don’t want to have the rest of my day be lousy.

The gentleman who was working was awesome and deserves so much praise. I am very much a creature of habit and get the same thing no matter how different it tastes each time. He took the time to give me salted caramel drizzle with my salted caramel cold foam cold brew and made me the salted foam not just regular cold foam. I am highly impressed, and will definitely go back to this starbucks when I can. He clearly enjoys what he does and takes pride in what he delivers. 5/5
