I had an excellent breakfast here of chicken & waffles! The chicken was perfect and pre-sliced in a lovely presentation. The waffle was nice and thick as it should be and not like the skinny waffles at many other places. I ordered my waffle extra toasty and it held up through the meal perfectly! I also enjoyed delicious caramel latte. I am a local but I had a mini-vacay feeling eating here this morning and that’s what I was hoping for! I am looking forward to many more little escapes at Black Rose Cafe & Bar!

The food is delicious. The coffee is also delicious . I will definitely be coming here often to try the menu. I tried a bit of the chiliquiles I know I probably spelled that wrong lol but those were so good I’ll have to get my own next time. The crepes were good.

Our brunch experience was delightful. The dining area was cozy and clean, staff was attentive and friendly, menu was comprised of a variety of scrumptious food. Strawberry-Lemonade Mimosa’s we’re beyond tasty. If you haven’t already you should definitely plan to!!

As good as the food was, our experience was less than even fair. We had arrived just after church, and one of the first people for their lunch rush. We ordered as soon as we came in, my brother and sister-in-law had actually arrived before us and ordered. After we had came in multiple tables had been sat, and their orders had been pushed ahead of ours, one of which was a table of eight. Our waitress did not tell us. I’m sorry or give us an update of where our food was, the manager, I believe is who saw the looks on our faces came over to our table and apologized for the fact that he was the one who put their orders ahead of ours. So not only did it take about 10 to 15 minutes to get our drinks. It took another hour after that before we received any food. We were not going to be compensated at all until we said something about it. Which was only a 15% discount.

I haven’t had food since the reopening, but if you’re debating on coming in, JUST DO IT! This is the cutest little cafè in Locust Grove and does NOT disappoint! I came in a few times under previous ownership and it was nice and worth coming in during that time too, BUT it’s even more spectacular than before! Not just breakfast foods, deserts and coffee, but an entire lunch and dinner menu with operation hours going until 9?!
