So I ordered a chicken fried rice because I saw one of their flyers at my apartment building, now I’ll be honest I went in there and it was empty. Not any customers and it lunch time, and I know why now the food is not just bad it’s like nothing the chicken was so pale and white and it didn’t even smell like chicken! There was no egg on my rice, the place is not ugly it’s pretty clean looking, but there is one major issue. My friend and I used the flyer that was delivered to her door but ordered online since the person who picked up wasn’t helpful. I ordered sesame chicken that came with white rice, egg drop soup, crab puffs, and sweet and sour chicken. Because I spent over $40.00 we got a free 2 liter soda which we didn’t get to choose what kind we wanted. When we got our food it wasn’t that good. My friends egg drop soup was good but her sweet and sour came without vegetables which she expected, there was a huge carton of sweet and sour sauce that we didn’t order, a lot of rice (plenty to share), and my sesame chicken was plain and dry so no sauce or glaze like I’ve seen and had at every other Chinese restaurant, the crab puffs were plain as well, and we weren’t given fortune cookies. We were (still are) disappointed and will not eat here again.

This is a true mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant. Not many people think this Chinese place is open. I had shrimp with noodles. Very good. If you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant on Cactus near the 51 freeway this is the place to go. It’s right next to Chompies restaurant. If you’re tired of chicken hamburgers or even Jewish food this is the place to go. Mr. Cook’s is very good.

I ordered Szechuan beef, boneless ribs and wonton soup. Honestly the wonton soup was the only item I was satisfied with. I could tell this place uses low quality meat. Like other people have said it was very chewy and soggy. Not impressed. Chinese food in AZ always seems to suck. But this place is one of the worst. So I ordered a large triple delight dinner special and this is what I got!!! Since when do you add the white rice to the dinner so that it soaks up ALL of the sauce and then give me sweet and sour sauce!?!. What is wrong with you people? What I paid for and what I got is wrong!! The quality of your food and how you treat your customers has gone downhill immensely!!! Never again will i waste my money on you. So disappointed!
