Little Gyro shack in a parking lot. Two large tables for Al fresco dining. Most customers do as take out. Every customer I met has been coming here for years. Owner/operator is Greek does one customer at a time. Gyro is nicely sized, drink is 12 oz, fries tasty with seasoning. The fries are a smaller portion than other Gyro places but given you are full with the Gyro who wants to be bloated with oversized extras? Chopped fresh tomatoes, sizzling hot Gyro since he toasts the pita (nice touch) and just the right amount of the sauce on top. Drink/Gyro on Pita/small fries for $9.50 tax included. I’ll be back.

Legit. Hot off the rotisserie, warm pita, shoe string fries and the prices are equivalent to getting a cold burger and fries at any fast food joint. You’ll be much happier with the food here.

Gyro sandwich with feta cheese is huge! AND delicious. I’m not a wimpy eater but even I could not eat all of it at one sitting. The price was $7. The fries are good also. If you’re in Decatur, give this food wagon a try…you’ll be glad u did.

This is the absolute best place to get gyros! We drive from out of town when we get a craving. The spicy ketchup is a real winner for your fries. Pro tip: get your sauce on the side when you get your gyros to go. They are excellent warmed up in the microwave for another meal, then add the cold Tzatziki sauce.

Service sucked plain and simple. I had to practically spell it out for the lady and my order was still wrong when served. I do not want to be complicated but have some dietary requirements that must be adhered to, and as such I am very patient when ordering. I know it’s a pain in the butt, I really wish I wasn’t this way too lol! However when she got snarky about being asked to fix it, and told me I’d have to wait for someone else to fix it, so I just up and left. I’m out the $10 and going anywhere but here when I want a gyro in the future.

Gyro King is one of my favorite places to visit for an amazing gyro. Owner Chris has made his establishment one of the best places in Illinois to go for authentic gyros!
