Went there for breakfast on Sunday. A rush had just ended, nearly all people in the restaurant, about 15 people left after we sat down. There was only one waitress on duty, so she took some time to get to us. Not a big deal.

Service was the worst I could possibly imagine. My 4 year old daughters sprite tasted like just carbonated water. The other drinks were about the same. We told the waitress before our food came out and by the time we finished our meal, we still didn’t have drinks. I had to get up and go to the bar and ask for drinks 30 minutes later and when we got them, the problem still wasn’t fixed. Never came to check on us. My daughter also wanted ketchup for her chicken strips and we couldn’t get that either. She just absolutely dismissed our table completely. I couldnt even get anyone to speak to in regards to this issue either. I will never go back there again due to the HORRIBLE service my family received tonight.

Prime rib on Saturday night was absolutely delicious. Ordered it medium rare and it came out medium rare. Raspberry mule was also delicious!! Will definitely be back again.

This is a quaint place to eat. Nostalgic in decor. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is a side entrance from the gravel parking lot with a welcome sign. Don’t be confused when entering. It seems as though you are entering the back kitchen and dish washing area, but just walk straight ahead to the next door that enters the back dining area. The food was great. We had broasted chicken and cheese burgers. Curly fries were better than the regular fries. The side salad was nicely loaded with cheese, tomatoe, and croutons. It is a nice stop off place to eat when traveling from Yankton to Omaha. Not too much out of the way. The highway right in front goes right to I-29.

Great things do come in small buildings! Food was awesome, the chili, burgers and tater tots were a great hit with my hunting group. We will definitely return next year when in town for the Spring Snowgoose hunt.

On the way home from Nebraska, looking for a place to eat. Instead of the regular franchise, right off the interstate, easy places we could have gone, we took a chance and wondered a bit… off the beaten path to Whimp’s. Not one, I repeat, not one thing disappointed…I think we might road trip one day just taste test what else is on the menu!!!

A great small town bar. Really good food and atmosphere. If the bartender asks if he can make you a Bloody Mary..say yes.

It took us a little bit to get warmed up to Whimps, but once we did, it was amazing. Service started out a bit slow, but once we got our onion chips we knew this place was different. Hands down had the best patty melt of my life. If you’re from the city, don’t expect city service; appreciate the slow laid back pace and enjoy the amazing food you’re about to enjoy.
