I’m not sure how they are calling this “ smoked”. There is no smoke aroma ANYWHERE!! That was a red flag got me. But I tried it anyway… no smoke flavor or seasoning on the chicken or brisket!!! Not even lightly seasoned. And the meat was dry.

This place is an institution and testament to why everyone should protest METRO’s halfcocked almost entirely useless expansions. Lenox BBQ will remind you of family reunions and the good times, the BBQ is a firm representation of classic Houston BBQ. The chicken is – in my opinion – their best feature but everything here is solid. Aside from the fact that the place was originally won in a dice game and they have catered events with populations rivalling cities – the coolest thing about Lenox is that they will cook what you kill so to speak. They will custom cook any amount of raw meat you bring them at a specific price per pound. Lenox BBQ is a truly essential Houston BBQ joint and the embodiment of what this city is about.

As a Texan, we know our BBQ. Here in H-Town you’ll find in the parking lots of various businesses Grill Masters, craftmen/women putting nothing but love into their mastery of beef, pork and whatever meat they choose to grill. However, I can honestly say, Lenox Barbecue is a step or more above most Q that I’ve had the pleasure to eat. Their ribs literally melt in your mouth & the Brisket…OMG! Took me by surprise! And this you can bank on, at Lenox, it’s about the meat. The sauce is on the side but you really don’t need it because the meat is flavorful, tender and… as I previously mentioned, melts in your mouth.

Small spot for takeout only. Very good price for the amount and quality. Baked potatoe with chopped beef and fixings. Had a side of slaw that was crisp and fresh, not over loaded with dressing. Best value bbq in the neighborhood in my opinion.

Excellent food at a great price ! They may have lost their dining area to the metro rail but you can still call in your order for lunch or catering. Lunch pickups are fairly quick when called in , same great food still being served!

Absolutely, hands down, the worst bar-b-q I have ever tried to eat. The meat was so hard I couldn’t get my teeth through it and this is not an exaggeration. There was more food in my trash can than on my table after I paid $53 for lunch. Please save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere.
