This place isn’t really all that great. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and courteous, but had a very strong body odor. The food was bland and undercooked with some of the rice being hard while other portions being mushy. The cleanliness of the restaurant was slightly questionable as well with the back door to the litchen was propped open allowing flies to freely come and go. I was certainly not blown away by this place in the slightest.

I got take out from here about a week ago. I ordered by phone and picked up. Food was ready on time. Big issue here is the quality of food is outright horrible. The pork fried rice had no flavor, tasted like bad white rice. The egg rolls were frozen section egg rolls. I didnt even bother to eat the wonton soup, because it was bright orange. I also got chicken wings they were probably the best thing i got, and even they were not good.

After years of eating at Double Dragon, another restaurant in E’town, the food tasted different… Not in a good way. It was the only restaurant we knew cooked General Tso’s the way we liked it so we were hesitant in trying other restaurants. Luckily and surprisingly, Hong Kong cooked it the same way. We’ve tried several other dishes, like tangerine chicken, bourbon chicken, lo mein, curry chicken, crab rangoon, various sushi rolls, and they’re all really tasty. I’ll admit I’m not a big fan of the fried rice, but it does taste better than the new way Double Dragon does. Most of our business has been via delivery, and the food is always VERY warm and fresh. LOVE IT. Double Dragon is closer, but their food was always mildly warm. Hong Kong has now become our go-to Asian takeout I’m very impressed. Didn’t know what I was missing all of these years.

Up until they changed owners/cooks the food was great, we’ve eaten there often since 2019-2020 and the food has always been great, now everything is a five-alarm fire that doesn’t allow you taste the food.

I ordered the shrimp egg fu young, egg drop soup and an appetizer of fried shrimp. It was all delivered quickly, Hot and delicius. I had to take a break after the shrimp because they were so filling. The shrimp were XTRA large and cooked just right, no overdone a all.

We ordered Chicken Fried Rice (CFR), Mongolian Beef, Singapore Noodles, Lo Mein Noodle. The CFR was a big disappointment. They gave us yellow rice which each appeared to be steamed and not fried. It was wet and packed. It did not taste good.

Stopped at Hong Kong for a quick dinner fix from out of state and found this hidden gem. After looking through their extensive menu, I decided on their Mongolian beef, Sesame chicken, and tofu in garlic sauce. The food absolutely blew me away with the taste and quality. Everything was perfect seasoned, nicely priced and generously portioned. Each entry came with my choice of fried rice and I mean real pork fried rice, not soy sauce and rice. If you live in Texas you’ll know what I mean. I believe they had more than just Chinese food here. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try their other dishes but I’m sure they’re also great.
