We stopped at the Pukalani location on the way to Haleakala. The Maui Lani Kalei’s Lunchbox location is much better than this one.

Great local food and friendly service. We got there at about 4:30, so it wasn’t very busy. We got the chow fun (some of the best I’ve had), saimin (loads of meat!), and a couple of cheeseburgers for the kids. It was totally worth the 15-20 minute wait for the made to order deliciousness.

This place has really great food! I got the shrimp scampi, and there’s always one thing I love: butter. The scampi is smothered in butter, capers and cherry tomatoes (delicious)! Almost all meals come with rice and macaroni salad, so come hungry or bring along someone to share it with!

There was a long line when we got there for lunch. But it moved fast. The inside decor wasn’t very impressive, and limited, so we sat outside. It’s located in a strip mall, so there was plenty if foot traffic. We ordered the hamburger steak, which came with rice and macaroni salad, and wasn’t bad, except it was oversaturated with brown gravy. Unless you love gravy, you should ask for it on the side. We also got the Mahi Kalei which was fresh and delicious. This seemed more like a fast food type environment and food quality/selection varied between freshly prepared stuff and richer, greasier foods.

Our first attempt to try this place. Walk-in Take-out.

Swung by here for a quick lunch and it was great! I ordered the Mochiko Chicken and it tasted great! It was crispy and not dry nor starchy. The portions were great for the price you pay and the staff had been accommodating during my visit.

delicious delicious delicious! visiting in the area and stopped by for some dinner after our Haleakala hike — the deep fried mahi was so flavorful and tender, the tartar sauce to go along with it was also such a treat. Would highly recommend this place!

Very nice staff. I ordered furikake mochiko chicken and was pretty disappointed. The chicken was very dry and there was no sauce. My other half ordered loco moco and it was delicious. Our friend got Mahi Ala Kalei and she really enjoyed it.

Very nice place, clean and well organized. With the option to eat inside or in the outdoor seating.

This was our first local plate on our Hawaiian visit and was the favorite even a few weeks later. I got the island pork, and it was so tender. Perfect amount of gravy (lots) and the mac salad wasn’t too mayo’y. Very yummy
