I ate here twice while visiting Devil’s Lake, one lunch and one breakfast. The food was excellent both times as was the service. If you come for breakfast select the smoked German patty for your meat. I would describe it as a generously sized patty of homemade sausage seasoned deliciously, not too spicy and not too smokey. Very nice break from the same old boring breakfast meats. Restaurant was clean and staff was professional. Prices are very fair for what you’re getting. Highly recommend.

There is very little here for vegetarians including if you do the salad bar. The locals said this was a great place. The staff who were mostly high school teens, we’re very sweet…but the food isn’t much to look forward to. I couldn’t find anything to eat but the Knoephla soup because it wasn’t meat based but it came with mostly solid balls of plain solid flour dumplings and very little soup (like 9 tablespoons). I asked the waitress for some more soup and she was kind to give me another cup of soup with just the soup and no dumplings and didn’t charge me for it. I couldn’t find anything else to eat so I bought some coffee to make my bill a bit more and tipped my nice waitress about 50%. I would have loved some fried bread and Native American eats instead.

Server was polite. Prices are reasonable. Chicken club was good. Knoephla soup was good. Son in law ordered a bacon cheeseburger that was waaaay overdone. Patty was crusty and dry. You could tell just by looking at it. I let the server know and she offered to take it back. It was too late by then. Everyone else had gotten their food and he didn’t want to be “That guy”. So he ate a few bites and set it aside. That burger should have never left the kitchen. Better cooks and servers would never let something like that make it to the table…..

We had 9 people in our group and the server was great and checked back to see how we were doing. Several had the salad/soup bar and it was ready good. Others ordered off the menu and said their food was good as well. Overall great place to eat!!

The floor was filthy. The pot roast looked like deli meat warmed up. The potatoes were horrible and the serving of stuffing was almost nonexistent. Gravy was lukewarm and tasted like nothing. The only saving grace was the amazing pickled herring. My fellow diner was offered two different entrees neither of which actually were what she ordered. Then she proceeded to get violently ill. They may have been a 2022 finalist but my advice – don’t eat here
