I currently live in Tampa, FL but whenever I visit family in NJ, I make sure to stop here to get a quick Pupusa. Unfortunately they don’t have great Pupuserias in Tampa so I look forward to getting these here. The Pupusas are absolutely delicious and they are so cheap! I got 3 HUGE ones for like $6, you absolutely can’t beat this deal anywhere else. The place isn’t the greatest looking as far as decor but who cares!!! I go for the yummy Pupusas when Im in town!

It’s like a time machine that takes you places and this will take you to Salvador to try some of the mast authentic dishes. The moment you push the door that says Cash only and you step in you are in for a treat. This first was my place to pick up my morning coffee con Leche and since I stopped drinking coffee I still stop by and get some lunch or just when I am in the mood for some pupusas. If you like to travel and can’t just go there and enjoy some great time in Salvador. 5 stars and definitely recommend it.

The puposas are awesome! The black bean and chicharron were my favorite. Alto de elote is a must try! All dishes are made to order. Super fresh and big portions. The only thing I wasn’t too happy about was the service. The waitstaff are a bit unorganized and have a bit of an attitude.

It was a warm sunny morning walking down Bergenline and I knew I wanted a hearty comforting meal. We just stepped into this restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. Mind you this is Cash only, we went to the bank and made our way back. Now anytime I want a traditional central american meal I come here. They make the tortillas from scratch and the fresh taste and smell that you get as you break one open… Fluffy inside and crispy exterior. The breakfast I chose was the decision tradicional con chorizo revuelto or traditional breakfast with chorizo but scrambled. It comes accompanied with refried beans, cream, sweet plantain and tortillas. I paid extra for the cheese slice and avocado. I don’t usually stop there but I omitted the baleadas and pupusas this time. The food is well done and flavorful. The food is fresh and the price is affordable. Lets just say that morning this restaurant gained a loyal customer and many more as my friends and family also have come to love it.

Cockroaches!!!! Yes, roaches that are still alive!!! On the counter where the hot food cases are, just above the high chairs, down on the ground below the register counter, and God knows where else. Once they are food level, it’s beyond dangerous. Do not eat here until they clean it up. You can get seriously ill. I’m Central American (and a trained chef) and it breaks my heart to see a restaurant that is supposed to be representing us be so filthy and unsanitary.

Baleada’s are my favorite there! Always delicious. Service is always good even when busy. Price is prefect. Horchata is always a must here. The spicy cabbage slaw is delicious side with the food. Pupusa are delicious and many different ways to try them.
