First and foremost the food is FRESH and made to order! I am a bit skeptical about seafood places because my grandparents owned a seafood catering company in Mandeville way back in the day (when they were alive). Let me tell you this place is better than eating in your grandma‘s kitchen and if I say that you know it’s true!!!! Nick and Rachel (the owners) are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. There are so many items on the menu that I want to suggest… I’ve been going there every day (except Monday) and trying something different! The bread pudding is out of this world and from what I understand Nick’s father is extremely picky on how it’s made! It is the best bread pudding I’ve ever had in my life!

I just noticed this place today while I was working in the area. I had the fish and shrimp platter with fries and hush puppies. It was delicious and I will be back. I ordered to go and they didn’t take long to get my order out. The fries were a different cut that I’ve never seen before but they were great! If you love thick cut fries like me, you will like these a lot.

It’s a handy seafood market. I havent been particularly impressed by quality or prices as of yet. If you attempt to wait or allow the service to ask you if they can help you, you will likely be get skipped, dont be afraid to be a little up in thier face to get your order in.

I am born and raised in south Louisiana and have eaten seafood my whole life—Lama’s Seafood and Eatery is without a doubt the best shrimp, catfish and oysters anywhere!! Best shrimp poboy ever! My husband loves the meatballs! I highly recommend this eatery. Love the staff and atmosphere. Very casual. The boiled shrimp in the market are a weekly treat for us. Best flavor and always nice and big. They also have the best tartar sauce—the reason to eat fried seafood! I love this place! If you haven’t been, you don’t know what you are missing. Oh, the bisque is fabulous!!!

The assistant helped me early this morning, before normal operating times, to facilitate selling me Soft Shell Crabs I needed before leaving town… as I was headed out! My boys were looking forward to the crabs. I wish I’d remembered her name, but both She and the SSC’s were just great!
