This place offers the widest selection of fresh vegetables and meats that any restaurant offers.

First off, I’ve been to a lot of Hot Pot/Shabu Shabu restaurants, and PK Shabu is ok.

First time trying hot pot in Phoenix and I wasn’t disappointed at PK Shabu. They have plenty of selections of protein, soup base (I ordered the curry base), add-ons and sauces. You’ll even find more seafood selections in the back which includes cut up shell crab, crawfish, and octopus.

Went with a large party and the wait staff was super friendly. Some of the heaters at our table weren’t working properly and the staff was able to move us to a different table. Will definitely come back.

Each person gets their own personal soup pot. I really liked the miso flavor, the sukiyaki one was very plain.

Your seated at a table when you arrive. They ask your drink preference, I stuck with water due to soda being $2.00 a can, and take your soup base and meat orders then if you know them. They’ll come back if you need a minute. You can switch soup bases for $1.00 if you truly don’t like the one you chose. While waiting for that to arrive I grabbed a plate from the end of the aisle and went down the buffet line of additions. It was very well stocked and the selection was excellent.

The broths for the hot pot were ok. The buffet was clean and well stocked. They had crisp fresh veggies, shrimp, clams, and a number of sauces to add to your soup. They had none of the premium meats and they were out of rice. They were also out of soda and most of their drinks including tea.

The soup base is very so so which kinda ruins the entire meal. Frozen shrimp and other seafood provides more variety but the meat is good. Price is high at 40 per person and there is a 3.5% extra fee added on for some reason. Just overall so so….Kinda disappointed after spending so much really. Don’t recommend
