Several of our family met here for a little reunion of sorts. It was kind of last minute and Sal’s got us fixed up for the evening. We had a great server that got everything right. With about 20 of us to serve that is amazing these days. She kept up with refills and the food was great. We would definitely recommend anytime! Thank you so much for your Pikeville hospitality!

We went to Sal’s for the first time on 3/20/23 for lunch. We arrived early, so there was no wait time. The waitress was super nice and treated us like family. My husband ordered 1/2 rack of ribs. They fell off of bone, were not overly saucy and cooked to perfection. He said they were the best he had ever had. I had the enormous burrito which was wonderfully seasoned! We were very impressed with Sal’s…. hence the 5 star rating. This will now be our go to Steak-Mexican establishment in the area. By the time we left, the place was packed!

This place was recommended by the motel we were staying and they stated to tell them where we were staying and we would get a discount. The restaurant refused to honor the discount. The food arrived cold and my burrito was runny. The prices are too high and the quality is sub par. The server was not familiar with the menu and didn’t know the difference between draft beer (which they do not have) and bottled beer. The decor is more like that of an old fashioned diner than a “steakhouse” Would not recommend.

What a cute, quaint little place. Who would think you could find a Central American steakhouse in Pikeville Kentucky? Server was extremely accommodating even though we arrived late. Salmon was cooked perfectly, steak was so-so but much appreciated after a long day on the road. And Guinness on top of that. Definitely worth a try if you’re anywhere near Pikeville

I really don’t know what to say there was eight people in there most of them were at the same table The Waitresses acted like they were completely oblivious like they were really really busy the food don’t even give me started they brought nachos to the table without salsa he said I’ll get you some salsa that took 10 minutes finally 20 minutes later got my drink 30 minutes after that I finally which I was sitting there thinking maybe I should just leave pay the drink and just order door Dash wish my new I should have steak far from a steak honestly it’s more like a Waffle House or a Huddle House whichever you’re accustomed to and then on top of it which should be a good thing they overpower on their drinks but that makes up for the amount of time that it takes for you to even get a drink so I was there for an hour and 45 minutes only got two drinks got my meal the crowd never picked up and the waitresses still acted like they were overwhelmed doesn’t seem like there’s any leadership there it’s sad that’s my opinion and no there’s no hotel discount I’ve traveled all across this country and this is probably one of the worst titled steakhouses I’ve been to

I was sadly disappointed. I had read and heard so many great things. I ordered cheese quesadilla for my daughter, it had sour cream and tomato piled in the center of the plate (not listed on the menu). My daughter wouldn’t eat, she is two. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheese burger and the waitress somehow misunderstood and thought I wanted bourbon salmon. They don’t even sou d the same. When I did get my burger it was so dry no amount of sauce could help.

You aren’t going to stumble across Sal’s. Pretend like you’re trying to get lost going to a motel and maybe you’ll get there. Pick this place based on the name? Surprise! It’s a Mexican Restaurant! It’s a dual menu! Standard Tex Mex offerings along side steakhouse classics like blue cheese wedge salad, various cuts of beef, ribs, and bone in grilled chicken. You can start with chips, salsa, and buttered rolls when you’re seated. This place was not what I expected but it was great. I got the flat iron with chimichurri, as it seemed the best marriage of steakhouse and Latin influence. Recommended.
