My plate looked so yummy that customers around me asked what is that…. I think it’s called “Creamy Bacon Ranch Crispy Chicken” … I am probably wrong but when you slice into it, and the chicken is juicy, with crispy fried onions and mouth watering Bacon, topped with drizzling ranch over diced tomatoes…. call it anything you want. And by the way there was cheddar cheese too.

Haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel in years, and decided to come in on a Friday evening to see if it was still any good. They were pretty busy, but still got seated after only about 5 minutes. The wait on the food was a bit longer, but that was to be expected on a Friday night. I like the fact that they now serve beer, though it would be nice to see more of a selection. They advertise that they offer craft beers, but there wasn’t a single one on the menu…..all macros. The food was just as fantastic as ever. Country fried steak, amazing! As an added bonus, this is one of the very few places around here where you can get fried okra! And talk about value…..two gut busting dinners with enough leftovers for a third meal (plus a beer!) all for $30! You can’t do better than that even at a fast food joint. It definitely won’t be years before I come back again.

Me and my 3 friends stopped in there on Memorial Day on the way back from Indy and this Cracker Barrel was firing on all cylinders. The manager was doing his job and it seemed like his assistant(s) was also making sure everything was going smooth. Of all days I didn’t have high hopes of getting in and out of a Cracker Barrel quickly it was a Memorial Day but the staff was all very professional and our server (my receipt says Ashley) was great. But being a manager I could see this place was rolling because of a great manager (middle age gentlemen) and a great staff. Keep it up because I really appreciated it.

So, we went last Saturday night at about 7:30 p.m. Even though the dining room was half empty, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, which should have told us to leave then! We were seated and our server took our order. We waited for at least 35 minutes after placing our order before we got our food and my meatloaf was cold. My husband told me to send it back, but since it took 35+ minutes to get what I got, I just kept what I had. I get that places are often short handed, but why don’t you share that with your guests and let them decide if they want to potentially waste their time before they sit down?!
