This place has a really nice atmosphere. One side is bar seating and the other side is the restaurant. The staff was great, friendly and very knowledgeable. The wine list was phenomenal!!! I believe they only serve beer and wine. I’m sure they would be fine bringing kids. I highly recommend that they’re very well behaved kids. Everyone there that night were just small intimate parties of two to three people. I could definitely hear the bar side but I feel like it just helped the atmosphere. It was a very pleasant experience. We ordered appetizers entrees and desserts. I also ordered the Chevre salad. The lamb was great and the duck was amazing. I like that you can see the cooks and the chef preparing the dishes. We ordered quite a few desserts which you can see in the pics! There was just two of us… But I’ll splurge on a good dessert!! And every dessert we had was absolutely wonderful!!

The wait was worth every morsel! My Honey had enjoyed a meal here last summer and couldn’t stop raving about the oysters and steak. Anticipation has been building for months and Southside Bistro delivered good on his hype. We made it a point to make this our first stop off on our Anniversary trip and it was nothing short of perfect. The environment is suitable for any grouping. A mother enjoyed a meal with her younger child, gal pals were catching up at the bar over wine, groups were celebrating birthdays, and we were on a date. Staff is everything staff should be; effortlessly. The food was incredible — I ordered the salmon (and I’m a commercial salmon fisherman; so very picky on it being cooked correctly) and he ordered the bison bourguignon. The food could have stood alone to earn SB 5 stars, but as part of the overall ambience and experience — I truly wish I could give a perfect 10.

We told our server that we had some time to kill before our late night flight and wanted to enjoy a leisurely dinner – she was wonderful with recommendations and so pleasant to talk with.

The food is always exceptional. The service is attentive and helpful, yet never overbearing. The wine list is well curated for any enophile. Oh, yes, there is a good beer selection as well.

Exquisite. Had an appetizer and 1 dessert item, both had incredible smell and flavor. Photos speak for themselves ! Sat at the bar and noticed all the Servers had good attitudes towards one another even when one was starting to worry about an order. This is a fine dining experience with an open kitchen view to the right and a wine bar with additional seating to the left. Come here for those classy one on one dates or just a good savory bite to eat after a long day.

We have dined in most of the Anchorage restaurants. This one is NOT good. Halibut tasted like cod. Definitely not as good as other restaurants in Anchorage. Service was lackluster, and waitress very rude. Would NOT recommend. We will not be going there again.

The appetizer and dinner menu was so impressive that I immediately requested the dessert menu. If the desserts were equally impressive, then I would definitely have to pace myself! They were. And I did. I settled for the Salad wedge with a fantastic and generous blue cheese dressing and the Manila clams. I am a fan of Manila clams and these were superior to any I have had in a long time. The size and color were the first clue. The taste was to die for. I would love to make a clam risotto with them! We shared a peach raspberry cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream. Large peach chunks; tangy raspberry taste. Excellent choice; excellent plan.
