18 below is a wonderful place to go when you want to treat yourself. If you get Alex as your server, you’re in for a treat. Alex is amazing and makes the best Caiparinha drink!

A true hidden gem in Waterville. Parking was very easy in the lot across the street. We did not have reservations, but were offered a spot at the bar, which was very comfortable. The service was fast and friendly. We split the calamari app, which was breaded and fried well and came with fried hot peppers (YUM). I got the crispy duck and my husband got the seafood stuffed pineapple. Both were prepared perfectly and had generous portions. Reasonably priced for the quality and amount you get. We will definitely be back.

It’s in a basement with few tables and it still doesn’t look busy. The oysters were good (ish) I got the 2 kinds they offered. That was okay but everything else was uniform. So uniform in fact that when you think you may be eating freezer burned shrimp, you should trust your instincts. Lemons seemed fresh and the cocktail sauce was on point with the horse radish. Water… 100% city tap.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal this past week. The menu has a large selection of items making it almost too hard to choose but I ended up with the Tiger Prawn Shrimp Scampi and my wife had the Duck offering. We shared an Escargot appetizer and my only complaint is it comes with too little bread to soak up all that great garlic and butter so had to order some garlic bread that did the trick. The Wine and Beer choices were very good and the dessert was a perfect Italian Strawberry Cream Cake.

Wanted to try the beef stroganoff but they ran out of egg noodles. Ended up having scallops Saint Jacques. It was okay. The scallops were tender. It was served with a tomato and spinach orzo which was dry. They messed up our reservation so we stuck in a back room that was painted black and pink. It was dark and didn’t look anything like the rest of the restaurant.

I want to live here! The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous – brick and wood, low lighting, exposed piping! The food was fantastic though it was a bummer that they were out of SO many dishes – but that’s the risk you take when they only use daily fresh ingredients. Strong drinks and great service!

I reserved a table by email 3 weeks in advance for graduation weekend. We showed up on a rainy Saturday evening to find a note on their door saying they were closed for a “gas problem”. No other businesses on the block were closed. We were scrambling to find anywhere at all to eat given every other restaurant in town was booked for grad weekend. Could have sent an email! Will never recommend this place.

Amazing seafood dinner especially the dive scallops. Friendly service and the food took longer but you can see and taste the difference in quality. For appetizers the bruschetta was the best I ever had. The Maine oysters on the half shell was also delicious and fresh. The colossal shrimp is indeed colossal. Definitely check it out.
