Sushi Kawa makes excellent sushi. Located on the edge of The River at Rancho Mirage Mall, this place is an easy drive from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and anywhere in between. When we went, the rolls were excellent (everything tasted very fresh), and really the only complaint we had was the price. It was insanely expensive (some rolls were $30+) however, the presentation was excellent. You’re getting more than just a sushi roll for $30 – the rolls are massive and you even get some sides on the same plate. You will not need to order more than one, unless you’re super hungry. The sushi wasn’t the absolute best I’ve ever had, but I’m certainly not complaining. Taste-wise, I would go back because some of the things we got here were really good. As I said though, I just hope they do something about their prices!! That’s the one thing holding back this place (hence why there are 4 stars instead of 5). They lower those, and I would easily say this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the whole greater Palm Springs area!

Great service and quite good sushi for the Valley! The chef was quite accommodating to food allergies and special requests, and we enjoyed the variety of flavors between our rolls. Each individual super roll was definitely enough for one person to eat and be satisfied.

Great place to dine! We came for our last night to enjoy a nice meal before we were going to leave, this place did not disappoint! When we walked in the place was about 80% full (it took us about 5 minutes to get seated). The staff were nice especially this one trainee waiter who was very polite and joyful (it made our experience 10x better!). We ordered a bunch of food, which was a little on the expensive side. The food was nicely cooked and had great presentation. The wagyu beef cooked in front of you. Although, you have to wait a bit before eating, we did not wait long enough, resulting in the beef being undercooked (this was our fault, they told us too wait for about 10 minutes). The food was delicious, we finished everything! If you want something tasty that looks amazing try this place!

We were walking at The River, and stumbled across this new sushi restaurant. What a great find! Amazing rolls and service. Sushi was fresh with amazing presentations! Not very crowded earlier in the evening, but started to fill up when we were leaving. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the Rancho Mirage area!

We are so excited to say that a great sushi place has opened close to us! The best fatty tuna you’ve ever had. Thick, buttery…so good. The eel just melted in your mouth, and the eel sauce is more mild than your typical super-sweet eel sauce. The presentation was beautiful. Service was incredibly friendly. The decor is very clean and minimalistic. What an awesome place!! Can’t wait to come back!

First time here, we came from Los Angeles as a pit stop to charge our Tesla. The aesthetic is so cute, our server was amazing. And the food. Presentation 10/10. We ordered the Philadelphia roll with salmon and the salmon was exceptionally fresh. The edamame was quite spicy and really good! The Shrimp tempura was okay. Dumplings are also super good!!! Will come back to eat
