This is my second time going to the restaurant my first time I had the smothered pork chops with Mac and cheese and collard greens, and the second order was baked turkey wings and the same sides. I thought the smothered pork chops was made in gravy.( NOPE) they fried the chops the poured gravy over them so I asked you not going to put the chops in a saute pan with the gravy to get them smothered. ( NOPE) the gravy was flat no taste what’s so ever.The turkey wings was big as heck ( I’m use to the baby turkey wings ).But they where ok needed some seasoning . The best thing on the dish was the Mac and cheese. The collard greens had a little spice and sweet taste. You put flavor in the sides but nothing on the meats.

Has parking free, the food was delicious, hot. The interior was beautiful with black art. They have cute seating areas , I just didn’t like that they added 18% tip to my bill. The service was excellent, let me do that.

I would say the food has been good twice now on two different days. I love a place that is consistent. Mac n cheese is good, yams good and catfish is good. One thing I do not care for is the cornbread, cornbread needs some work. Overall 9.5/10 yes the food is that good.

I would give two stars because the Mac and Cheese tasted sharp and tasty but to send me undercooked Turkey wings is almost a sin to the culture. Not kinda cooked or just needs a lil time. Completely tough and a bit red . They cannot be chewed at all.. Insulting to be honest. Just reject the order via app before doing that . I cannot say that I can trust an establishment who would really send food like that knowing Turkey wings take time to cook so , no, I can’t say I’d try them again.

I ordered the pork chop dinner the first time I went. The pork chops were rather small and a little bland. The collard greens were spicy which is something I have never experienced. I could not eat them (I don’t eat spicy food). If you’re going to put peppers in food you should put a caution. The mac and cheese was ok. I tried the chicken wing platter and the wings were a bit under cooked. The yams were great. Over all better than most soul food places in the area. A bit pricey for what you get. Ex. The chicken wing platter was 20 dollars. Five wings, two sides. And an extremely small square of corn bread.

Amazing soul food best spot I’ve ever been to in jersey everything is amazing here we tried the whiting ,fried chicken, cabbage,macaroni&cheese , and the yams all where Amazing reached the table within in 15 minutes fresh and piping hot definetly a one stop shop for souls food in (jerz ) if you a native or jersey if you not from here

This is a top tier soul food restaurant. Come prepared to eat and prepared to be satisfied. All the food is made fresh so there will be a wait time but it is well worth it. Me and my wife have visited twice and will return in the future. We had their fried fish which was perfectly fried, tasted great an well seasoned. Smothered turkey wings, which are some of the best we’ve had in our life . They were well seasoned and savory. We also had their potato salad, macaroni and cheese and there cabbage( 2nd to none). All of them were delicious, it is not often that you go to a restaurant and every dish is good but this has been the case both occasions and we will be returning. I highly advise if you want good soul food from a black owned establishment, pay a visit. Also the staff and customer service was great as well, it was overall a pleasant experience for us.

Great location, they have parking. The cashier was wonderful, knowledgeable about the food, she even let me sample before ordering because there is such a wide selection, I was not sure. You wanna get everything. Food is fantastic. Great tasting, looks good, smells good, great atmosphere.
