My experience at The Butcher’s Son was wonderful! I had the beef tip pasta, and it was divine. The beef was tender, and the mushrooms and asparagus put it over the top. I also tried the fun in the sun cocktail, and it was excellent! I also appreciated the atmosphere and my server, who didn’t rush us and allowed us to look over the menu and was also very attentive.. I definitely will return.

Went for my birthday! Food was excellent! Drinks were well made and delicious! I started with the peach drink, then we had the spring rolls. They were very cheesy and meaty. I ordered the filet and crab cake, while my boyfriend had Brian’s classic. We ordered them with the Parmesan peppercorn sauce and it made a tasty difference. Steaks were cooked perfectly in temperature, flavor, and were very tender. The atmosphere is very intimate, dim lighting and men’s parlor vibes. Very sleek and done well. Would highly recommend!

Food is ok. Calamari & braised pork belly appetizers were delicious! My steak was dry, the onions were soggy & the asparagus wasn’t chewable from being undercooked. I’d like to thank both the managers for being so kind & personable. Waiter was a nice guy too. They were so busy serving the party room that we didn’t really see him for almost an hour. It’s ok, everyone is working hard. We would definitely come back again just for all the genuine people, especially the male manager. He was so helpful during their dinner rush.

My husband and I decided on steak for Valentine’s day. I had seen a dear friend post this place a few times in the past saying how good it is. We decided to try it out. From getting there early and the hostess being lovely and letting us know we could wait at the bar until a little closer to our reservation, the bartender being attentive and friendly, a calm atmosphere, and our server Dominique was attentive friendly explained everything to us, and the food was delicious beyond compare to other places we have been for steak. Highly recommend!

Everything was delicious at this restaurant! I didn’t love the porch tea cocktail – seemed a little watered down. The bronco burger and the chicken sandwich were so delicious!!! They serve real potatoes as their fries and they’re seasoned to perfection. The calamari was interesting, they served a small portion but supplemented with deep fried veggies. They also give complimentary bread with some sort of sweet butter. Desserts here are great! We had lava cake and banana bread pudding. Lastly, Service was friendly and efficient. Will visit again.

Excellent experience all around! Great bread and grilled Caesar salad, amazing French dip spring rolls, well-crafted drinks. Ribeye and scallops special with garlic parm baked potato and balsamic green beans was fantastic, crab cakes great as well and BBQ corn and fried Brussel’s sprouts are both must-try sides! Tort for dessert very dense and rich – perfect way to top off the meal. Similarly great experience at their Chesapeake location, highly recommend!

Got there for a 1:30 reservation right before the kitchen was closed for brunch. Was met with such great energy and service instead of the “We’re about to close.” vibe that you get at most places. Food was great, service was great, and was definitely an elegant switch up from your usual fast paced packed family brunch spots.

Had our first dining experience here tonight with a chef friend who was visiting from DC. Our server John was amazing at his knowledge of the menu, the drinks, and how the meals were prepared and served. The atmosphere was great and enviting. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was amazing on top of the bbq corn. I ordered the 12oz ribeye while the men had the big cowboy steak ribeyes. My steak came out the way I ordered, medium. The guys ordered medium rare. However, John had to take it back a third of the way in due to the steak being too rare towards the middle, but they corrected it. The Steaks tasted amazing as well as the side that we ordered. We could tell almost immediately they were aged and asked John about it, who informed us that they were wet aged. We could also tell they were sous vide as we are big into that (using our sous vide at least 2x a week). Overall, the experience was definitely worth 5 stars, if not 6. We will be going back just due to the quality of the food and the wonderful service.

Our server Adrienne was AMAZING. She made us laugh, smile, answered all our questions and gave us a great experience. We arrived a half hour earlier than our reservation and they sat us right away we ordered the pork belly and ahi tuna for the appetizer, 2 steak and French dip for dinner and was suggested the sangria white. The bred was so warm and soft. If ever in Virginia again, we’d definitely go back.
