Lefties Revenge
Random BBQ place today. For a bbq joint in an older downtown square, I was super surprised the staff was very friendly. Daniel is a 5 Star Cashier. His personality and welcoming vibe will change your day. I ordered the Stuffed Spud with Brisket and all the fixings, the beans were new to me on a potato. The moist brisket was flavorful. Generous portions. You wont find the traditional fountain drinks here, they tasted pretty good. I went with traditional tea, instead. Great food, smiling staff, and really clean. The wood tables were not filmy or sticky. All the tables had a full roll of paper towels. The bbq sauce bottles on the tables were not gunky and pretty full. I’ll be back for sure!

I can only speak on the food I had. I ordered a 3 meat plate with turkey, chicken, smoked sausage, green beans and mac n cheese for the sides. The chicken was juicy and amazing, the turkey was super dry, the sausage was pretty much what you’d expect. The green beans tasted like they were right out of a can and lacked flavor, the Mac n cheese was right on point, very creamy and flavorful. I added 6 of the smoked wings and an interesting side they had, blue cheese slaw. The wings, I was told were smoked then deep fried. Maybe just smoke them and don’t deep fry? They were extremely dry. The blue cheese slaw was interesting, I’m not sure what I expected but I think if you’re a blue cheese fan I’d definitely give it a shot. My niece had the loaded baked potato with brisket and she seemed to enjoy it. The boys had kids meals, one had chicken fingers and the other sliders both had fries. I did snag a couple fries when plating their lunch and they were pretty awful, extremely chewy. The sauce was interesting, it wasn’t to any of our liking but that doesn’t mean it was bad just not our preference.

Stopped in for a quick bite as this barbecue joint was on my route. The brisket smoke ring was beautiful, texture and bark excellent, also it had the perfect amount of moisture, based on how I asked it to be cut. The cheesy potatoes were on point, and the okra was fresh fried crunchy, as it should be.

Been here a couple times. It’s a out of the way drive for us. The staff is very attentive and super friendly. They have a great collection of hot sauce! I also collect hot sauce, so that’s a thing for me. The BBQ is top tier. The pricing is actually to low. They could easily charge more. I’ll be back many times!

Great food, smiling staff, and really clean! Generous portions! Maybe some of the best fried okra I’ve ever had. Back to being clean, these wood tables were not filmy or sticky. The bbq sauce bottles on the tables were not gunky. The ladies bathroom was very clean! For a bbq joint in an older downtown spot, I was super (and pleasantly) surprised. Moist brisket was flavorful. Sauce is different than most I’ve had. We’ll be back for sure!

First time eating this BBQ, we brought some friends from Florida with us. I’m sorry but I didn’t like the brisket at all. Ordered lean and my first bite had a good size piece of fat in it and didn’t like the flavor at all. I loved the fried pickles though, gave 1 star each on service and atmosphere because there were at least 3 flies around us, landing as close as on our paper towel holder so I spent my time shooing them away. I mentioned it to a young employee when we we’re eating AND as we were leaving and he didn’t seem to care, kind of just shrugged his shoulders. The place should be thoroughly cleaned if any flies are present. I will not eat here again

Brisket Egg Rolls were EXCELLENT! Had brisket, smoked bologna, mac cheese, potato salad. It was decent. Mac cheese a little soupy for my tastes. Price was reasonable.

The portions are ridiculously small. I ordered a two meat plate. Sliced brisket and turkey breast with two sides. I was served one little slice of brisket and one little slice of turkey. Fried okra was phenomenal, but the blue cheese cole slaw was far from it. My wife ordered the same two meat plate with smoked ham and sausage with okra and mac and cheese. She was served first, and I made fun of her portions until mine came. She felt the same about the okra but ate one bite of the mac and cheese. It had been a while, but we’ve been here a couple of times previously. I probably won’t ever go back.
