Wholesome Weirdos
Deeply flavorful Chinese cuisine. Fried rice comes standard with the meal (steamed rice available upon request). Delicious variety available, we recommend the Hunan Chicken (Tender chicken, assorted vegetables in a lush brown gravy that is spicy and richly delicious). Rounded out the meal with crispy crunchy eggrolls, hot mustard and sweet and sour. Try an ice cold Tsingtao if you haven’t yet. Dine in, pick up or delivery (limited area 5pm-9pm) available.

The restaurant itself was nice. The entrance, lobby, and dining room were clean. I was greeted and quickly seated shortly after entering the restaurant. The server was nice and I didn’t have to wait for a drink or food order to be placed. My main reason for saying Hunan Palace is only okay is that the food itself was very bland. It was edible but the food didn’t wow me. A week later after eating at Hunan Palace I barely remember being there and don’t really have a desire to return. If you’re in a hurry and need a Chinese food fix Hunan Palace is worth a try. You might like it! I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Found a pretty good meal here. I don’t think anything I experienced here stuck out as extravagant or over the top, but I also was not disappointed at all either. Service was good, food was good, & it was served hot. I tried an egg roll, hot n sour soup, and the Hunan beef. All were worth trying again, however I wouldn’t be opposed to trying something different either. It was evening well after super when I ate, so perhaps my timing allowed for more personalized and good food & service, so I may need to try again during busy hours. So far however, it was a decent place to stop and eat, and I’d try it again.

We’re traveling through town on a road trip and our kiddo really wanted American Chinese food. The food came so fast! Hunan Palace is perfect for little bit longer of a sit than fast food after driving all day. Calm atmosphere and lighting. The food is hot with generous amounts of pea pods/veggies and fried tofu/protein. It is seasoned perfectly and is freshly made! The staff is awesome. We had such a delicious meal and are back on the road in under an hour with leftovers in the cooler for lunch tomorrow. It is an excellent American Chinese restaurant.

By far, the very best Chinese food in Sioux City! It’s not a buffet, but the food is Fresh and Fantastic! Service was great and the restaurant is clean. Easy straightforward menu and accommodating staff. Great pricing and I left full!

Hunan has great food and great service. They even have a full bar. I had shrimp in lobster sauce, and my wife had sesame chicken. Both were very good. The tables show some wear, but the dining area was well decorated. We enjoyed the great food and service.

The food was excellent, and there was plenty of it, actually couldn’t finish it all. The dining area was very clean and they have options for booths and tables, the reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because the lack of options on combinations for my personal preference, they did have alot of options, but only a couple of options for mixing meats, like beef and scallops, I would have preferred a chicken and shrimp option. And it’s a little more on the expensive side compared to other restaurants with the same quality… Over all this was a great restaurant.
