So this place has been super hyped recently. I came with 2 other friends and the original help time estimate (from the wait-list at the front) was 20 minutes but we ended up waiting 1 hour. Fortunately we could crowd into the bar which is a side room and we watched the heat and Celtics playoff game. Otherwise it was really frustrating. It was 6pm on a Sunday.

We arrived on Saturday 6:30pm and the wait time was an hour. The food was good but not as good as I hoped. The flavor could be a bit better considering the hype and long wait time. If you wanna wait a bit shorter time, I recommend come after 7:30! The pho was a little too easy to break and the marrow cracker arrived a bit cold and chewy. The beef rib for the big Gao pho was great tho! Overall feels like this place has great concept but the execution can be better.

Dined in at the SF location on 14-May-23. Super busy for mother’s day, waited about an hour for seating. Parking at this location is hard to find, especially during peak hours so plan ahead.

Great spot for Friday night. I got the Chubby Pho which was a great big bowl of good classic pho, and we had the beef carpaccio and chicken wings to share (which were great examples of how to use fish sauce correctly in cooking).

Came in for dinner with a few friends and we LOVED the food. We went early on a Friday night so that we could try to beat the crowd and were lucky enough to be seated immediately.

Came thru during Father’s Day. Nice restaurant. Kool bar. Big clean bathrooms. Order family style shared dinner. Sad to say, the Fatty Ribeye PHO was a HUGE disappointment. Broth came out warm and noodles were too soft. Everything else was really good. Too much talk about broth at this place but broth needs alot of work compared to San Jose. Pho Ha Noi and Pho Kim Long are far beyond GAO.

Had a long wait, since there was no way to reserve a table in advance. Food there is top notch, using the finest ingredients for traditional Vietnamese dishes. Expect to spend at least 25+ per person for dinners.
