We typically love coming here and the staff always treats us well. However, I recently witnessed multiple times during our last visit that the woman who is in charge is so mean to her employees, especially the host. It was very noticeable to us and very uncomfortable. The host was doing his job well and as quickly as he could, but she kept making ugly comments to him in front of customers. Even with good food, I’ll never go back just because of how the boss treats her employees.

i am still in shock. food was fine although extremely overpriced for mediocre food. the problem my group encountered was the terrible service. from the get go, the server was annoyed that we had a five person group. the entirety of our experience was filled with snarky remarks and rude comments from this server. i have never experience someone this passive aggressive; toward the end, it became straight-up aggressive. after taking our orders in the most condescending way, she proceeded to walk behind the counter and mock our laughs and make snide comments such as, and i quote, “get a life” when she overheard someone saying they wanted to go home. she constantly reminded us that we were inconveniencing her by wanting separate checks. i totally get this; we should’ve gotten one check and split it after. mistake on our part. however, she was so rude about this and made a point to mention this repeatedly. there was barely anybody in the diner and we, knowing our presence was unwanted, quickly ate and kept our voices down, afraid of her quips.

Food was great! Atmosphere great! Service was not so great. Waitress forgot what my girlfriend had ordered to drink twice. Served her dessert kind of sloppy. We blamed it on nerves and still gave her a tip.

Food was edible, except the soup… It seems that the soup is never hot when it’s served at these restaurants. This was our first time it’s this particular restaurant in the chain and the soup was almost cold. We sent it back and took the Fries instead… The un club sandwich was not something I would order again. Our servers were attentive and the food came out Timely. Men’s bathroom smelled clean but there was a lot of paper products on the floor. The amenities were dated. The main restaurant only had a few tables to accommodate larger people… As booths don’t always work. I would not go back to this restaurant again however I will return to the Modesto restaurant on McHenry. The whip cream on the milkshake was kind of chunky. Not appetizing.

2nd time I had lunch here and it will be my last. Ordered a BLT with a salad, BLT had a nasty taste like they spread the grease from the pan on the bun. My salads ranch dressing was like water, at almost $50 for 2 and we both didn’t finish our meals.
