It’s just kind of “meh”. The food is greasy, as is to be expected, but not terrible. The location is pretty, but the building and seating are not exactly greatly taken care of, there is sort of a layer of grime on everything. The milkshakes are melting by the time you get them, but I feel like this is all to be expected when a gaggle of teenagers are working there on their summer break. Still stop by every summer though just because.

The best thing about the Alpenhorn is where it’s located and their milkshake selection. We ordered two burgers and three shakes, and we paid almost $43! The burgers were okay, and the shakes were good. But, being directly across the street from the State Park entrance, makes it nice and convenient if you’re hanging at the lake.

can it be that alpenhorn has terrific shakes, although they discontinued, my favorite peach shake, and some of the worst hamburgers I’ve ever tasted in a fast food restaurant? I was further insulted by the high price and low level customer service. Apparently, they hire teenagers without any training. I never did see a manager or anyone in charge as the kids behind the glass messed up our order. And then failed to tell us when it was ready. Fortunately, this quasi-German drive in has no German food or beer and it’s close most of the year. Keep driving and find another place.

The huckleberry ice cream was worth the drive from our rental in Chelan. The bonus was playing the vintage mini golf.

As they say, only waterfront dining in the whole resort area. Bubbly little creek, shade, music, fried goodies, ice cream, mini golf. What else matters?!

Great place to eat this end of the lake. They have mini golf, food, smoothies and shakes. Right across from the state park. Good parking in the shade.

I’ve been searching for this place for 3 decades. I was on a trip to Lake Chelan and we stopped here for lunch. The milkshake was easily the best I’d ever had…but it was fries that I’ll never forget. The view was awesome and I love the atmosphere, too…but those FRIES!

The atmosphere is great; the sound of the stream nearby, the food is delicious, and tasty shakes. Try the Bear Mountain Burger!
