This was unexpected, but much better than I thought it would be. They had a lunch buffet on Saturday. 12 or 14 items plus the salad and fruit bar. Unfortunately my appetite wasn’t big enough to try everything but everything I tried was good. Good enough I need no other reason to drive the hour or so to go back. Service isn’t easy to judge when you are doing a buffet, but still they get top scores for being polite and quick. I would imagine the place is hoping during evening hours, but lunch was fairly quiet, which was nice. This is going to be a good reason for going to Richmond.

Great food, low key energy, it just feels like some wonderful Mexican people invited you into their home for dinner. That is how I feel when I go here. Highly recommend the Arroz con Pollo.

I loved the fact that they played Mexican music! I love the original feeling of feeling like we walked into Mexico not many restaurants are so authentic but this 1 is! Thanks for the great experience! I loved it! Food is good, service is good, they actually check on you! I was impressed. We will definitely be back for the buffet next time! We didn’t make it in time but that’s okay, gives us something to look forward to next time! Thanks!

I unsuccessfully tried to have the buffet today. I got there about 1:15 on a Friday, and another gentleman happened to come at the same time, and the buffet is scheduled until 3 pm. We both looked at the half empty buffet and remarked that they needed to refill it. The waiter asked to seat us, but I pointed at the buffet and showed him there was almost nothing there. He said, and I quote, “Well, there is no one here, so we won’t refill it”… REALLY ??? Then why in the heck is it until 3pm… it’s not like I got there at 2:45 pm. Not only was the staff unfriendly, but with a rude comment like that, I left and I won’t be back. This place is called “El Mejor” (The Best), but it should be called “El Peor” (The Worst), and yes, I do speak Spanish.

Wow, what a great place. 1st off, the chips are fresh and hot and amazing. It was a great start. Now the food was even better. Burrito Loco and chicken faitias were soo delicious and the bot plate is really hot! Watch out to not get burned, but this Mexican food was really good. Try it!

When it comes to the food, El Mejor does not disappoint. Their menu offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes, including tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, all made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite is their carne asada, which is always cooked to perfection and served with warm tortillas, rice, and beans.

I got the buffet and it was ok at best to be honest. Buffet food is always just ok anyway. I’m sure if you order from the menu, it would be a lot better. The service and atmosphere was superb. Way better than 5 stars

This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. Me and my galfriends always go here! Now I will warn you, if you get a margarita you’ll have to drink a water before you leave! But the food is great and the drinks are strong! 10/10 every time!
