Took mom out for supper and saw that it was busy. Got our drinks ordered and then our order took. Then another couple came in approximately 15-20 minutes after us and they were served and eating. I had to go ask where is our food and I got “we’re waiting “….finally we got served, no apology for it being so late. Fries tasted old but the rest of the food was okay.

This was our first time coming to Anchor’s Away Cafe and it didn’t disappoint. The fried oysters were large and cooked perfectly. We will definitely go back again and again.

Save your money, travel and time. It’s all fried food, I new that but what I did not care for was how fried. We ordered two meals, 1 Oysters, this was the worst food we ever ate. They were so fried the Oyster itself was cooked to a dry tasteless piece of meat. The other was flounder that was under fried and seamed to have been frozen. The waitress was just as dry, she had no personality and only came back to the table when she recognized we were ready to go.

Food was really hot and fresh. I ordered the large seafood platter and it was excellent. My wife ordered the jumbo shrimp (6) and she had problems finishing it up. We ended up taking half mine and 3 of hers home. Hush puppies were definitely good.
