MANPUKU, which means “to be happy with a full stomach” in Japanese, brings interactive Japanese yakiniku dining to Dallas with its first Texas restaurant, slated to open on Lower Greenville June 29.
We were first established in 1948 at the heart of Tokyo’s food hub. The restaurant curated its original, and now signature-styled dish, “Negi-Shio” meat, which has now become the standard of Japanese BBQ “yakiniku” dining.
As a pioneer of yakiniku with now more than 70 years of history, MANPUKU brings you the authentic “Taste of Tokyo” experience focuses on bites of raw protein and vegetables cooked tableside over small grills and eaten fresh and hot.

The new female bar tender was so amazing, she helped us choose some really yummy drinks to accompany our meal and she was very kind and helpful. The food is pricey, this is an expensive Japanese restaurant that is well worth it. Everything was hot and fresh and very well presented. The manager was kinda snappy and short with the other staff, which I thought was disrespectful, but the Hostess was also super kind. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and in a great location. Perfect for a date night, anniversary, or celebration dinner.

Came here for a birthday party and had high expectations for this place. The services was great and the staffs are nice. We ordered the $ 100 signature tasting menu per person and it comes with the uni and bunch of A5 supposedly meat. Everything was delicious and tasteful. It could be pricey here so be ready for that. But I think it’s worth the experience once in awhile.

So far for the meat selection was definitely pricey. The ambiance was well lit and the server Tommy was friendly to talk too! We had the signature tasting and overall it tasted pretty good with the quality that it comes with. Not sure of it was really A5 wagyu or Kobe beef based on the marbling and the fact we came from Japan and tasted real A5 wagyu and Kobe beef, but it tasted really good. If you got money to spend by all means go for it!

Delicious food with good service! We stopped in here because it looked interesting and tried the Wagyu tasting. Our server(Lisa from Blackpink [sorry, I didn’t catch her name!]) couldn’t have been any better and she made sure to take care of us. Went there last night and oh boy was I surprised! Lots of people however the service was super fast! A huge shout out to our great server Derek P for a seamless service the entire time! The food was great! The Wagyu tasted premium and everything else seemed fresh. Would definitely recommend for an elegant dining experience.

The environment at MANPUKU is warm and great for a date or a group of friends. If an Old Fashioned is your sort of drink be sure to have the Japanese Old Fashioned. The food was delicious and filling. The staff is helpful and proactive.

I got to experience the American Wagyu Tasting & Signature Tasting. Of both Tastings, my favorite meats were the Kobe Short Rib, Japanese A5 Wagyu & the Sukiyaki, free-range raw egg yolk (easily the BEST on the menu!).
