We really enjoyed our first visit here. Clearly a small family joint and love how they’re doing something different. All the Ethiopian flavored food was delicious and very different for us Texans. Ribs are so good as was the chicken and rib tips. Brisket needed a little love but we will be coming back. They did run out shortly after our order so go early.

A must visit place if you are fanatical about good food. Also, if you love experimenting with different cuisine, flavors and pairings. We ordered the platter and was pleasantly surprised how well Texas barbecue blended with Ethiopian cuisine. The pork, beef, chicken, even the teff pancakes, were out of this world. Wash it all down with the ginger and honey tea, and you will already be planning the next visit. And why not, the place is truly value for money to boot.

Excellent food from Ethiopia. Not having had any Ethiopian food before the lesson the lady showed on eating was awesome. The “bread” was basically your fork. She explained the bread and a bit about the other dishes on the table. We had several original dishes as well as some traditional Texas staples. The integration of some of the spices on the rib tips was truly a world class flavor. Several of the vegetables dishes were spicy for my mild palette but awesome when eaten with the other dishes. Thank you for such an awesome meal.

This was a surprisingly impressive BBQ joint. We had the sliced brisket, ribs and sausage which were all very good. The meats had a mild smoke flavor and very good seasoning. The texture of the brisket and ribs was spot on. They were both tender but not so tender they disintegrated. Their sausage was also very good with a nice fatty taste which is what I like. The Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad were both excellent. This is a very good Texas BBQ restaurant.

I love TX barbecue. I love Ethiopian cuisine. Combine them?! Whoa, why hasn’t anyone else thought of this before?! The results are astounding. Smoke ‘N Ash left me speechless and wanting more. Hardwood smoked meats in a direct collision course with the exotic spices used in berbere, awaze, and mitmita make for some new flavors that are not yet defined in the culinary dictionary. “Holy smokes” is the best way to sum it all up!

Food is good as well as their cake slices. The red velvet is my favorite it’s super moist and flavorful.

“Delicious” doesn’t do this place justice. A lovely concept and execution, absolutely worth the 45 minute drive from Dallas. As a Texas native I thought I knew good barbecue but this has completely changed the game. The platter for 3 is a perfect mix of classic Texas BBQ and Ethiopian cuisine. Do yourself a favor and go here immediately (and bring me back a plate!)

First time having Ethiopian food and wow I am so happy I tried it out!!!! I’m vegetarian so I got the vegan combo and the flavors were so spiced up and the bread that comes with has a nice zest to it. great customer service, they are so friendly and even gave me some free ginger tea! Very happy and will be a regular customer here.

One of my favorote things to try out is BBQ. So whenever my wife and I are wanting some we try to find a new place on the map. Smoke’N ash is very good. With realy good size portions. Meat was tender and the Mac & Cheese was excellent.
