Some of the best BBQ I’ve had and the sides!!! The sides just send this place over the top. Grandma Thelma’s Cheesy Taters are the best but don’t miss out on the rice side. Here’s a little secret…order some shaved bologna.

This place is fantastic! The owner clearly treats each customer with individual courtesy each meal is made with the intent that it is as important as any other meal. From the complimentary moon pies to the delicious BBQ. I can’t recommend this place enough. Stop in and try any of the meats, they’re all perfectly smoked and seasoned. Great place!

Clean dining and really friendly staff. The smoker and the food smelled really delicious. I had the three meat plate with spare ribs, brisket and pulled pork along with “cheesy taters” as well as the beans. I really wanted to give Trigger’s four stars. The ribs and brisket were both dry. The pulled pork was just right. However, maybe it was my taste buds, I just couldn’t taste any of the smoke. The portions were slightly on the generous side compared to other BBQ places I’ve been lately but I don’t feel that makes up for higher prices I’ve seen. Then again prices for most stuff is higher these days. I will say the staff said the coleslaw didn’t make the cut that day so they didn’t serve the coleslaw and I thought that says something for their standards.

We stopped in for lunch, and got a special and a one meat plate. They both come with the meat of your choice (the special just comes with less meat. For $9 it’s still plenty of food) The pulled pork and sausage were great, as were the “Okie beans” and cheesy taters. I wasn’t a huge fan of the coleslaw. The lady told us it wasn’t “regular” slaw. It’s apple cider vinegar based, and A LOT of celery seeds. It wasn’t terrible, just not my favorite. 100% worth the stop. Oh, and the Moon Pie was a nice touch too!

Excellent BBQ. I showed up the minute they opened on a Saturday. There is no parking nearby. Park and walk in. It is worth it. You will want to show up early. There were already eight people in line. The building is insanely small. Just ten people in the line filled up the dining space. You will want to buy your food to go. There was a super attractive tiny young lady operating the register. I got a huge chuckle watching her tiny self try to reach their menu board to change information. Shorties rock! My food took around 15 minutes to prepare (they were really busy already). It was worth the wait. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The portions were decent but pricey. The BBQ sauce was the best I’ve ever eaten. It’s thick and cunky instead of runny and watery. I plan to go back in the future. I hope they eventually turn their huge backyard into a parking lot… or perhaps upgrade to a larger location.

Best BBQ ever had. Everything was perfect, from the , sweet ice tea, prices, food taste, quality and quantity, to the Fire Department gear decor and the attentive friendly staff. Some bbq places are greasy or over smoked. Not this place. Perfection! Even the homemade bbq sauce was scrumptious. Award winning . I will go back here over and over again. A meal for 2 $33.00. Each plate came with bread, 2 meats, 2 sides and ice tea. full and satisfied. .

Back for our second time on a 3-day trip. 1st time split the bison with the 2 sides with my sister. We were stuffed. Never had bison before, tender and delicious. 2nd time got the brisket. I had to add the cheesy potatoes again for a side. Place is clean and decorated so nice. We even got a short history lesson of the area from the owner. Highly recommend when you’re in town.

Loved hearing Capt’s experiences and stories. Great food – the cheesy potatoes and rice dish were so flavorful. Meat was tender and not fatty. It was a little off the beaten path and looked kind of scary at first, but we are glad we found our way to their place. The owners were friendly and fed us well!
