I thought we would be able to sit down for dinner but it appears the dining room was closed due to lack of employees.

I usually try to avoid going to restaurants near closing time. But I was starving and pulled in here with 2 mins until closing. I was fully expecting someone to grumpily take my to go order. But it could not have been further from the truth! The young lady was super-friendly and welcomed us to order. Service was awesome.

Decent BBQ and friendly staff. A small area for outdoor seating but most people seem to get carryout. I’d rate the flavor and quality at average. Not bad but not memorable

Cute, country lunch place. They are known for their pulled pork, but their cheeseburgers are good, too! IMO, the best thing in their menu is their fresh cut fries-they’re delicious!

Great bbq!! Awesomely balanced—not too sweet, too peppery or too vinegary. Hush puppies, sweet potato fries, and French fries are awesome too. Coleslaw is on the peppery side, but some folks love that :). Friendly staff, quickly served and food was hot and fresh—highly recommend!

I regularly went to the original location off rte 86. It was by far the best pulled pork in the area as it was slow smoked over split hickory. So when I saw the same name on a joint on the 1 near Pittsboro, I had to check it out.

Grew up nearby and knew about this restaurant. Bar-b-que was really good as were the hush puppies but the coleslaw was so spicy we couldn’t eat it. Maybe this is their usual coleslaw but never have had HOT coleslaw in the south before.

Their barbeque is the best of the best, and so is their slaw, collard greens and Brunswick stew. I have been enjoying this great food for over 40 years! What is really surprising is the fact that lean pulled pork (like they have here) is actually super high in protein , and loaded with other nutrients and with a reasonable fat content (less than 10 grams) per serving.

Definitely not smoked pork. But if you like chopped vinegar Eastern Carolina style pork it’s good. Fries were some of the best in the region. Staff is all over it with service.

Everything is delicious. The hushpuppies are incredible and crispy, the fried catfish is so fresh and not salty, fishy or greasy. The coleslaw is really nice and fresh, not too creamy and has a nice bite from black pepper. The milkshake is more like a frappe than a milkshake ($2.75 for a small), but that might be regional and I’m certainly not complaining
