—-Update 3/2023. Adding 2 more stas as the food was better the next time we went. Also the manager refunded our bill from the previous bad experience. Not something I was expecting at all, but still very nice of them.—– We have gone here 4-5 times since they opened, but there was always something wrong with 1 meal each time we went. The last time we went will probably be our last time there for a while, as this time they messed up both meals. My wife ordered the Luella pasta in the picture. The asparagus on the left was our own asparagus, just to show the color asparagus should be. Their asparagus was yellow and cut into tiny, tiny, pieces. The pasta was way over done and just soaked in oil with no actual flavor , other than oil. My greens and beans had a fishy smell and after taste. The only redeeming part was the artichokes french were very good. I like mine lemony and it was right up my alley. I had always preferred the Old Northside over Perlos but have to reverse that for now. Seeing some of the owners passive aggressive remarks to bad reviews, I’m hoping they can redirect that energy into making the food come out better so we can all write 5 star reviews. I worked in the restaurant business in the past and realize there will always be a small percentage of people that don’t like your food, and you can’t please everyone. But if you make an effort after you see bad reviews starting to be more common, and reply in a positive way to those, I think you can turn anything around. I truly hope to see Lucas around for a long time and will be looking for more good reviews on here in the coming weeks so we can try it out again.

I came here for the first time for the broiled fish fry Friday!!! I sat at the bar, great family atmosphere and good service! I took a bite of my food before the photo because I couldn’t help it! But you should definitely give it a try!

I was hoping to like our visit to Lucca’s in East Rochester. It was average. My husband asked if he could get the Fra Diavilo without a spicy sauce. They were great with doing so. Unfortunately it was bland. He’s asked for the same thing at many restaurants before with better results. I had the shrimp scampi which was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary and what you’d expect. Our service started great but our waitress flew by our table a number of times while we sat and waited for our check.

Northside inn was our go to restaurant for Italian food. My wife has celiac disease. Highly sensitive. They had always done a wonderful job of making sure that she was safe. When Luca took over we went back hoping that it was the same. It was not. Service was slow and the food was not as good. We waited a few months before going back to allow them time to get settled. Last Saturday night we went back. My wife explained how sensitive she was to gluten. Waitress told her that it was no problem and she would make sure everything was done correctly. My wife gets the plate of pasta that includes a chicken breast that was buried underneath the pasta. My wife takes a couple bites and sees that the chicken breast was breaded. We finally get the waitress to come over and ask her is that gluten free. She says NO. See says she will have it remade. 30 minutes later they bring out the food. At this point we get it to go. The manager never comes over to apologize. My wife was very lucky she didn’t get sick. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and especially if you have allergy sensitivity. We are heartbroken that our favorite restaurant is gone.

Used to go to the old Lucas and have been to the new location but my partner had not. It was a tuesday so not the best night to go out. Decent size crown but not busy.

Ordered drinks that took forever. My toddler got chocolate milk. Went to put in his cup that I brought.. Spoiled milk. Took a while for waitress to come back so my husband brought to bar.. 2nd milk I checked to make sure it was ok and yet again chunky white stuff floating. We went with apple juice after that. Owner then walked by with an unopened milk announcing it was a new one.. Then I get my chicken parm… chicken burned and covered with cheese and sauce to hide it. You could taste that it was burned even with all that on top… soup was bland… worst french onion ever.. no flavor. kids chicken fingers over cooked as well. Didnt complain about that just wanted to leave. Only good tasting item was the bread and butter.. High cost , no flavor and burnt food. Ramen is what I ate when I got home… Will definitely never go back.. worst experience for a 250+ bill… No apologies from restaurant owner or staff

Private party. Chicken French very good, pasta and sauce not bad. Sides, greens and beans, from what I heard very good to spectacular. Owner onsite worked his back side off… shows he cares, check it out

Best fish fry in Rochester. They make their fish fry fresh and tartar sauce in house. The fish fry is crunchy without being overly battered. I love this place. It’s a hidden gem in Rochester.

Good service, especially on a busy Valentine’s day , our waitress was very nice. The food was very good, especially the arancini! My beef tips and vegetables were good, but my whipped potatoes were cold, hence the 4 stars….but we’re going back to taste the Italian classics!!
