I feel like it’s always a big controversy over what is “authentic” but I feel this place is the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Lafayette area. The gentleman who waited on us was cracking all kinds of jokes and even other times the staff is polite and very eager to serve, this is a different experience then what you’ll get at other places locally. I feel that’s what gives it the authentic feel. Always 2 for 1 margs and the “Broussard Choice” (menu item) is amazing. Prices are reasonable and the venue has the authentic feel as well. Great job La Hacienda.

The “Carne With Red Sauce” is NOT authentic at all! I’m Mexican so I know this for a fact. First off the meat that they gave me was Carnitas & Red Sauce was just put over the the meat. The meat was soo dry. This is supposed to be simmered with the sauce, in that case just give Sauce on the side if your going to just put it on Top. Plus the Sauce is supposed to be with “Chile Guajillo” & a thicker sauce. The sauce tastes like straight up Buffalo Sauce. This is more a “Tex-Mex” feel of food. But NOT authentic! Plus the rice is “Spanish” rice & not mexican rice.

The food is decent. The staff is always indifferent about you being there as a customer. I have been there a half dozen times recently, hoping the staff would be better, but it doesn’t happen. I won’t be going back.

Really really wonderful! The restaurant is farther from our home than local competitors but way worth the drive! Really nice decor creates a great date spot. The menu has a really nice selection to flip through. Something for everyone. More standard dishes plus Cajun themed. Portions are BIG. (Husband’s hand in pic for size reference) Quick and delicious.

Who let’s children In a bar?? Our wait ress was waiting and chatting so much with those people ane wasnt good at all. Kinda cocky if u ask me. Food was terrible and I will not eat there again. Kids don’t belong in a bar and they turned the t.v. on so loud. Young people have no respect at all. Owners need a gordon ramsey walk in for sure.
