Alley Cat is a nice addition to the Friendship Heights restaurant scene! There is a lot of sit down dining seating separate from the bar area. The menu offers some tasty Moroccan dishes. The beef kofta and fried cauliflower were great! Hoping for a signature cocktail menu in the future as they become more established.

The staff was very pleasant. We both ordered salads with shrimp added- the Spinach salad and The Israeli Salad. They were both delicious. Miss Chadwick’s, the previous restaurant that was at this location, but this is a good addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely be back.

We went in for a quick weekend brunch and enjoyed the mint tea, shakshuka, and eggs Benedict! The shakshuka is a bit olive-forward but eating it with the honey-drizzled flatbread side transforms the flavor.

First time going to Alley Cat. Clean restaurant with good staff, and it had live music which was entertaining. Chef Abdul was absolutely amazing! He came out to meet us, he made a recommendation of Chicken with lemon and olives and Veggie Couscous. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. I loved everything about the place. Will definitely go back again 🙂

Stoped in for lunch ordered at the bar guy was great taking my order. Tried the Moroccan sliders for the first time did not like at all. Also ordered beef kabob with rice and veggies I had better at other places the white sauce for the nann bread was so disappointing. I want a refund didn’t like food at all!!!

We had a wonderful lunch at Alley Cat. The food, service and ambience were great. I had the cauliflower and brussel sprout appetizers, my friends had the chicken shawarma sandwich and shrimp tacos, and we really enjoyed them all. We will be going back, maybe to try the Happy Hour menu that looks great.

This was my second time here. The first time I had a delicious chicken shawarma with a great Israeli salad on the side. This time I had the vegetable couscous and it was very very good. I can’t wait to try the b’stilla. The chef is very accommodating, as I can’t eat cilantro.

Funky cozy venue, a welcome change from the sterile vanilla digs of its local competitors. Solid menu, especially the appetizers: do NOT miss the zaalook (an eggplant dip which you would not recognize as eggplant), the Brussel sprouts (if you think you’ve already had good ones recently elsewhere, wait till you try these), and the harira soup (indescribable, yummy).

I went to the alley cat soon after it opened to check out the new local restaurant in the neighborhood. I ordered the beef Kafta for lunch. Needless to say, I was little disappointed. For the price, the portion was limited – the dish had three main items: beef, rice and vegetables. And there just wasn’t enough rice. The vegetables were, unfortunately, mushy. either extremely overcooked or from a frozen bag…
