I feel so badly giving only three stars as I would give 6 stars alone to our server. The food was seriously only 1 star but I gave three overall because of our server I felt like it wasa a good experience. As far as the food I would stay away from the stuffed grape leaves, while the flavor was ok the rice was so over cooked it was pure mush. The gyro platter was hugely disappointing. Cheap frozen gyro meat, maybe four pieces and a bunch of lettuce. My wife had the salmon salad and it was flavorless. What was really good was the Ceaser Salad with anchovies. Warning some of the strongest anchovies I had but a little bit with the cold salad was really tasty.

The adults were in the mood for Greek food, so we decided to give it a try. The service was a little slow, especially for a Friday evening that wasn’t very crowded, but it was very friendly. The food was pretty decent – not stellar, but it fulfilled the craving. The kids had Italian dishes: the kids’ baked spaghetti for the younger, and the older insisted she was ready for the “grown up” stuffed shells. She also wanted a side of broccoli, but with cheese added, and the kitchen delivered wonderfully!

We had a great meal with 6 of our friends tonight. Everyone ordered something different. My wife and I had Shrimp Santorini which included a salad and bread. Large shrimp, olives, feta cheese, onions, and spaghetti. Stephanie, our waitress was on the ball. Every time my glass of tea was low she brought me a refill before I had to ask. I hate to be served lukewarm food. Mine came piping hot. Great job.

Since we moved to Richmond 20 years ago, we often visited the one on Staple Mills/Broad street until we found the Crazy Greek on Cox road in West End. We have been going there often and always enjoyed our meals. Service was always friendly and attentive. There is no long wait and ambient is pleasant.

Decent Greek Italian restaurant. Very nice staff. Do they stand out enough to survive in this cursed location? Only time will tell. We would go back for affordable Greek Italian food and good service.

Best Gyros in town. This time we had an appetizer pita bread and taziki, it was so light and fresh. We will definitely order it again. The place is big and feels empty most of the time but I like it like that. They have a bar where you can hangout and eat, so that’s a plus. Overall I like this place a lot, but mostly their Gyros.

Average. Service was ok and food was okay, but not what we had expected based on other reviews. The Gyros seemed to be the same old preformed meat pieces as most places and not “fragrant strips of spit-roasted lamb to create gyro sandwiches.” Disappointing. We were really hoping to find a good local Greek place.

My wife and I have always enjoyed the food from Crazy Greek. We especially liked the Staples Mill Road location. I’m glad that they opened one in the Insbrook area, because it’s only 5 minutes away from our home. I hope the locals support them and that will thrive in this location.
