Not a good experience at this location. Visiting from out of town, south Texas. This apparently used to be a Billy Sims BBQ spot. They closed it and a local guy decided to take over to keep BBQ there. Got there at about 5:15 they were running out of food. I did get some brisket, a quarter pound and a 1/4 dark chicken and baked beans. When I was reading a review about this place earlier somebody mentioned about the brisket being cut very thick or maybe the wrong way. I kind of experience the same thing really thick odd slices of brisket. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the meal. I had seen a new story about this location as well so I was hoping for a bit more but it didn’t work out. Good luck to them in

I just… I was so disappointed. I read that this place will stop selling their barbecue once they run out and that’s how it’s supposed to be because you should never serve leftovers. Yet I feel I was served leftovers the first time I visited. I asked for moist brisket from the point. I didn’t get it. I know I’m a BBQ snob but I wouldn’t serve this to my friends.

Our office ordered Ozzie’s and the food is sooo good. The corn bread is sweet and moist, and the smoked sausage was amazingly delicious.

I heard about this new BBQ place at my class reunion and had to try it out. It did not disappoint! We ordered the Brisket, BBQ salad with Brisket, pulled pork and sides of collard greens, potato salad, green beans and corn bread. The salad was crisp and fresh, the brisket and pork was good and tender, no sweetness to the meat and the sauce had just enough spice to add more great flavor. The potato salad was a new flavor I’d never experienced and it was good! I prefer supporting mom and pop businesses and will definitely add Ozzie’s as a go to place whenever I make it back to town!

We ordered the brisket sandwiches and the single meat entree. I have eaten at many of the BBQ restaurants in town and this is the best in town. The meat was smoked perfectly, great cut, and the flavorful bark and finish on the meat was amazing. The sauce was perfect and complimented the meat without overwhelming the flavor. This is not franchise BBQ but real BBQ. I am definitely going back to try more!

Service was fantastic but the food was not that good, the collard greens were the worst I’ve ever had full of stems and too much vinegar no smokey flavor at all! And only one flavor of sauce- no choices. I was expecting a lot better. We won’t be back.

This place blew me away! We ordered a sampler plate and I sincerely couldn’t pick my favorite item. The portions were very generous for the price so we had to take leftovers home with us. The dry rub on the ribs is super-savory without being overly sweet or salty– and the ribs are expertly tender but hold their integrity for the perfect bite. The beautiful pink smoke ring and salty-chewy bark on the smoked brisket is fit for a foodie magazine photo. The chicken is impossibly juicy and tender. When was the last time I had chicken that wasn’t dried out and flavorless?! Lastly, the heaping mound of melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork is insanely addictive, especially with a touch of tangy mustard bbq sauce! To top it all off, the sinful green chili Mac-n-cheese and brown-sugar beans were the perfect sides to send us into food-comas. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Missing Billy Sims. They dropped hot links and baked potato salad. Also just lots of kind of pointless changes that seem counter intuitive.

Service was great. Food was delicious. The tri-tip meat was really good, and whatever was on there was crack. My daughter got the pulled pork, which was super tender. My only recommendation is to rethink the buns – they’re a bit dense and overpowering. Perhaps something lighter? Overall, great experience.

Something was odd about the sliced, like it was cut wide instead of up and down. I won’t pretend to know how to cut brisket, but it seemed odd and the fat had congealed. I had a rib and it was pretty tough. The flavor of the meat was good. The baked beans were not terrible but strange. They tasted like a combo between ranch style beans and a sweet baked beans. The bean was not a ranch style bean because it was small like a baked bean. I wanted to like them but the ranch style flavor kept throwing me off. Also, prefer Dill pickles with BBQ. I may give it another try, give them time to get it right. The meat had great flavor. The sauce on the table was good too
