This little diner was amazing! My mom lives in Hagerstown and it is worth the drive out here just to go to this place. It was my first time so I haven’t tried a ton from the menu but I can say, the fries, salmon BLT and the Ruben sandwich were fantastic. Plus, the staff was very friendly. Definitely coming back. I happened to be in the area, so I stopped in to try the French Onion Soup I had heard so much about. It did not disappoint … onion pieces & croutons floating in a rich broth, smothered in a thick layer of creamy cheese … it was amazing! And the shrimp salad half sandwich … there were so many shrimp they were tumbling out onto the plate with every bite. Great atmosphere & excellent service. Really nice local eatery.

The Village tavern has small menu but what they serve is good. If you go with a large party over 6, the gratuity may be added atcwautress discretion. Please be sure to ask and tip appropriately. Stopped here on our road trip through Maryland. We stopped in about 4:30 on a weekday and got seats right away (only a few others there). Staff was super friendly. Food came out quick (about 15 min). We got crab stuffed mushrooms, tuna salad and a the crab melt. It was all delicious!! Highly recommend!!

The Tavern has always been a great dining experience in the over ten years I’ve been going there. It’s a wonderful atmosphere with excellent quality staff and outstanding food. If you have never been there or haven’t been there in a while I recommend you keep it on your to do list.

We moved to this area in December. Have checked out restaurants in Frederick and surrounding area. This unassuming bar and grill has become our favorite. It feels like Cheers. A large bar.

Sat at a high-top, bartender was incredibly responsive and lovely overall. Beers tasted like clean lines and fresh kegs, burgers were charbroiled to a perfect medium. I was legitimately astonished with how they pulled that off. Bacon was crispy-chewy-not-burnt and it was a fantastic overall meal and tavern to visit after a long day of fun.
