Stopped in for a late lunch. I had heard good things about this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Was greeted warmly as I walked in and because of the time was seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. I was brought warm chips and fresh salsa right away along with my soft drink order. They currently are working on getting a liquor license but it has been bogged down by bureaucracy. I was assured they would have it soon. The menu had alot of options and included lunch specials in the 6 to 8 dollar range. I opted for the slightly higher priced Fajita Borritto with Steak. Everything was made from fresh ingredients and was served hot. The food was well seasoned and had great flavor. I was very pleased and will definitely be going back. This is a small restaurant in a small village, a hidden gem if you will. It appeared that they had seating for about 40 people. Which most weekdays is probably okay but my guess is come good weather and weekends they could get crowded very quickly. I’m not saying don’t go just be prepared just in case. I learned from my server that they also have additional locations in McConnellsville and Duncan Falls, both also right on Rt 60. I hope you enjoy your visit here as much as I did.

Was looking for a new Mexican restaurant in the area I’ve been to a few now, as I walked in there was one server and one cook, if you’ve read any of my reviews you’ll know when I go to a restaurant I hope for it to be culture based.. whenever it’s a culture food that is… I was almost sad when the waitress was American like myself.. then I smelt the food… I was more than impressed with the food. It’s still on my mind today.. I love a good Mexican meal and El Palenque most definitely followed through with and incredible meal. Gracias amigo…. Gracias

El Palenque’s are my favorite Mexican restaurants around…. They have the best chefs especially Felix at Lowell, Ohio location… Mcconnelsville, Ohio location is very good also.. I haven’t tried the Duncan Falls location but I’m looking forward to it..

El Palenque is the best and only restaurant in Lowell. When you go in you are sat down quickly. You are brought salsa and chips that are delicious. The food is made quickly. The waitress/waiter check on you frequently. The handsome busboy does a great job of cleaning up the tables. The entire staff is friendly and professional. The whole restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and very clean. I highly recommend El Palenque!
