Charng Thai is a locally run restaurant with an interesting menu. I found the Pad Thai with Beef, ordered with spice level 2/3, to be filling and not too spicy. One member of our party thought her dish with spice level 1/3 was too spicy and did not clean her plate. The rest of us did. The staff brings your prepared food to your table after you order, pay, and take your drinks to a table. It has utilitarian furnishings, moderate pricing, and the food is a nice change from the usual Northern Minnesota tourist restaurant fare. It was clean and well lit

Great spot with some authentic food that you won’t find elsewhere in the “Northland.” If you haven’t been here before the ordering style is a bit different but the food is great and the people are friendly. Highly recommend!!! Picture associated with this review is a #9 (Pork Salad), I also order chicken dumplings but ate the too fast so no pictures ;).

Food was good. No service, you are instructed to pick up your own menu and write your own order and bring it back to the counter, pay the cashier and they ask for a tip. Pretty tired of this tip thing especially when you do everything except cook. Soy that they give isn’t even real soy and no soy as an ingredient. Crazy. They need to fix a few things that wouldn’t cost that much.

Shoot, the soup was either previously frozen or the coconut milk not boiled down all the way. The broth was curdled. No exchange. Was hungry so I got an additional fried rice. And my husband’s pad thai was void of spice when we asked for medium spice. Disappointed. And, if dining in, would be nice to have soup bowls and soup spoons- surprised me to get a disposable bowl and tablespoon.

I absolutely love this establishment.. food is always beautifully prepared and looks amazing when it’s brought to the table..The spring rolls are delicious and I myself i always get the Vegetable Stir Fry with Shrimp… so yummy

It was better as Udoms. Now there are less menu choices, and the portions are smaller. They seem to use less sauce on certain menu options. BUT I’ll still go there

The food is GREAT! If you loved the food when it was Udom’s, you will still love the food! However, the staff is not as friendly and welcoming as they once were. Staffing is tough these days and I sure hope they are able to get back to the excellent hospitality they once provided. We would spend more money if they still had table service.
