Really interesting place. Definitely a great place for happy hour. It was incredibly warm inside the restaurant and all the fan did was move the hot air around. The server was fantastic though and had a great attitude about it all. I could definitely see this being a regular happy hour spot for us during the colder months.

Came here because we noticed this place has been here for almost 30 years. Had perfect portion and fast friend service.

Fort St. George is located on the second floor of the 601 S King St building – truly a hidden gem. On a weekday dinner, the restaurant had a nice dimly-lit, relaxed atmosphere and great views of the heart of International District. The service was excellent and the Japanese comfort food were delicious. We each ordered a tempura udon and potato croquettes. I hope to come back to try their omurice, curry, and spaghetti. I consider the price point relatively higher than average for the area.

I visit this place mainly with folks after I pick them up from the airport. It’s open late, has a relaxing, homey vibe, and has perfectly fine tasting food. Nothing is surprising here and you get to spend an hour in a pretty neat bar area that overlooks Hing Hay park.

Haven’t been here for a long time. We ordered fried chicken, spaghetti and fried oysters. We enjoyed all the dishes. Definitely will come back again.

Best Japanese restaurant in Seattle, I make sure to visit at least twice every time I’m here. The food here cannot get any more authentic, it feels like I’m a kid in Fukuoka again. It also has the only place in the US (as far as I could find) with melon soda that most closely resembles melon soda in Japan. Cannot recommend enough, a must visit if you’re looking for real, authentic Japanese comfort food

Oh, my heart. I’ve been in love with the Fort for so long I’ve never thought to leave a review. It is the quintessential iykyk Seattle spot. To the untrained eye you might not even know it’s there and if you DO?

Discovered this Japanese comfort food gem thanks to Google Maps restaurant search, as neither the restaurant name nor external signage gives any indication as to what awaits visitors. The second story restaurant has views of the park next door and is super casual with grunge rock playing on the sound system and Adult Swim on the TV during our visit. I was surprised and happy to find that Japanese comfort food is very similar to the food Mom cooked growing up in a tiny town in Mississippi. Everything was delicious, the wine pours were generous and the staff were friendly. Will definitely be going back to try more menu items.

Our favorite place to go for a filling meal before a Sounders game!! This is a Seattle staple. No frills, great food, and pitchers of Kirin, what’s not to love. The Nabeyaki udon and bacon egg doria are our favorites
