At our Plano, TX location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food was good but I ordered 3 meals and only received 2 tartar sauces. I know usually when I come they never give enough so I asked for extra. To my surprise my extra would be the only two for my entire order. Also, the customer service could use a ramp up! I pulled to the speaker and this is what I hear…., “ order when you’re ready!”

I haven’t had Captain D’s in a very long time. So I drove to Plano and let me tell you the food was great the cashier was awesome. I purchased the seafood sampler with a order of grilled shrimp. The sampler comes with shrimps, chicken, fish, and two sides of your choice. The price is $9.99 plus tax. Everything was hot and fresh.

Went thru drive thru. I only went to try the garlic herb shrimp they advertised…BUT THEY WERE OUT!! IN THE MIDDLE OF LUNCH HOUR. For the amount of money they charge for the food now the quality and size of the fish portions and definitely gone down. Very sad.

There was only 2 people working and I’m sure that is out of their control. The guy at the front was working drive through and the front so that left lil room to tidy the dinning room area leaving most all tables dirty. The fish was fried too hard. The inside tasted like the crust of the fish and had the texture as well. The stuffed crab was not fully cooked through and was gummy and cold. Broccoli had absolutley no flavor. I guess I can say I enjoyed the fried okra.
