Billy Sims is a much needed barbecue place to fill the barbecue void that is the Gardner area. They just opened, and already there are many people coming and trying them out. Personally, I think it’s pretty good. I had their signature sandwich, the Heisman, and I was impressed. They aren’t skimpy on the meat, and the flavor is overall very good. It’s also $9 for the sandwich, and a side, which I feel is a good deal as far as barbecue goes. Their beans are alright, nothing to special. Their sauce are very good, with the Boot Kicking Hot being my favorite variant. I am excited to try more things on their menu, and I encourage everyone to support a new barbecue place!

This place is so popular that we had to wait until the second weekend after it opened to get in and try it. I now see why! The portions are very agreeable for the price, and the meats were prepared perfectly. The sauce is amazing! And they give you a ton of it! We are definitely going to be trying this multiple times, as Gardner has been lacking great barbecue for years

Saw this place pop up a few weeks ago, finally decided to give it a try. I wanted something different from my usual pork and beef, so I tried the polish sausage and the turkey as a two meat platter. Got a side of mac and cheese and a side salad. The sauce was good, though not particularly memorable. The meat was amazing though, it was juicy and sliced with ease. I could’ve eaten it without sauce and been happy but I love my sauce. The mac and cheese was OK, not the best I’ve had but not bad. The portions were very good for the price I’d say. I’m definitely going to go back to try the other meats.

Went at 11:30 on a Thursday. Got my food quickly. Ordered the Heisman and coleslaw and bbq baked beans. Sandwich and beans were warm. Coleslaw was average tasting. Wasn’t a fan of the beans but I like them sweeter usually. Also didn’t care for how mushy it was, but that’s just personal preference. Sandwich was pretty good, and packed in a good amount of meat. Sides sizes were pretty decent.

The food here is super yummy. I love the Heisman Sandwich, with a Mac and Cheese side. I prefer the mild sweet sauce but all of them are out in there own way. Also the staff is super friendly and always seems super happy and upbeat. The blond manager is always polite and makes us feel super welcome.

This was a super tasty bbq restaurant. Casual atmosphere and extremely friendly employees. I loved that they offer slider sized sandwiches that were perfect sizes for the kids. We tried the beans, coleslaw and baked potato salad; all of them were super tasty along with all the meats, the rub on the meat was tasty and they all had a great back on them. We will definitely be back!

Went here for the first time with my family on Tuesday night. We were excited to try a new BBQ place! And especially in Gardner which this is the first BBQ place to open in town. My wife and I ordered the 2 meat dinner and my daughter got the Mac N Cheese. Not sure if it so cold inside but we sat down and our food was pretty much cold. It was $20 for all of us to eat and we got waters. The staff was great and the place was clean but the food was not the best BBQ and not a good first experience for a new place. We will not be back here again.
