Prob the best tempura you can get in nyc! We came here for their tempura omakase tasting menu and it was phenomenal. All ingredients are super fresh and great quality, especially the scallops and uni, chef’s technique is just unbelievably amazing.

First of all, the atmosphere does not fit to the price. The interior was pretty old, not organized, and on my seating, I could even see all the dirty parts from the kitchen; Opened cracker on the self, directly watching the server doing dishes while eating, even the bathroom was pretty bad. For the taste, I would not say it was bad, but it was not special and not surprised at all, and there was some dishes not good. And also I should say about the time. It was 8pm reservation. When I get there, previous party was bot finished, and server started to clean at 8pm. The first course came out after 30 minutes, and everything came out very very slowly. The course was not that long, but it took 3 hours, which was time wasting. Personally I think it was kind of wasting my time and money.

I have never had an experience like this in my life. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing everything. I went with my girlfriend and we were both extremely happy with how the night went. Ari, and Atsushi are master’s at what they do, great customer service and great food. I would recommend this to everybody, have an open mind and you will be rewarded with great dishes and experiences.

If you are a foodie and want something unique this is for you, chef knows how to play with texture and uses only highest quality ingredients with many of them from Japan, already went twice in 6 weeks. Customer service is excellent, sake recommendations are perfect! Definitely listen to their dipping sauce recommendations will return again and again

A fantastic omakase, at an intimate 6 person counter, consisting of 2 starter courses, 8 pieces of tempura, 1 after dinner dish, and 1 dessert. Everything was flavorful. The tempura was light and crispy. And the service was incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough. Highlights for me were the 2nd starter of 4 dishes, king crab tempura, after dinner dish, and the mackerel tempura.

Secchu Yokata serves high quality ingredients that are cooked to perfection. Each dish was focused around making the natural flavors be the star. Everyone was incredibly polite, telling us about each dish and how it’s best eaten. Had such a positive experience and I definitely recommend to anyone.
