Was passing through on a way back from golfing and was shocked to see a friendly’s, as most in my area have closed. Decided to stop for lunch and happy I did! the whole staff was incredibly energetic and welcoming, and were quick to serve. Food was great too. Happy to see they still have the Monster Mash on the menu

I am so glad that there are still some Friendly’s restaurants standing. This is the perfect place for families to enjoy a meal and a sweet treat. I had not been to Friendly’s in a while, and there are some great additions to the menu along with old favorites. My son had the most amazing-looking burger, and I grabbed a piece of mac ‘n’ cheese that fell out of it and it did not disappoint. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was hot and fresh. They were quick to notice when our drinks had gotten low. The restaurant was well-kept and clean. What I was most impressed with was my young granddaughter’s menu selection. It was a healthy option off of the children’s menu, but it was carefully crafted to be child-pleasing and honestly looked delicious! All-in-all, this was the perfect place for a rare lunch outing with my grown stepson and his beautiful family.

I’ve always loved Friendly’s. I’m disappointed though that you can no longer get the tuna salad roll. It was the best tuna salad I’ve had in a restaurant. They also no longer serve breakfast. Otherwise everything is always good especially the waitresses. It’s a shame so many of them have closed. I hope the Hackettstown location continues to be my go to place for inexpensive good food.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Throwback to the old days of Friendly’s. They need to relaunch and remarket this chain. It’s has the quality and service of a local luncheonette and diner but with the consistency and menu of a modern chain. It is the best family restaurant that no one remembers or knows about. They nail it on every menu option, and the ice cream is still like the best ice cream parlor. We had young people with us, and they agreed. The food is super fresh and tasty, and the service is incredible and local. I wanted a Swiss Patty Melt which is no longer on the menu (not sure why, since it was Friendly’s signature burger and is truly up there amoung the best) and Lori the manager who has been working for Friendly’s for over 40+ years remembered it and made it for me (can’t make this up.) It was even better than I remembered and the frys were also incredible. Speaking of Lori, another throwback is the incredible training she must have had. She managed the restaurant like it belonged to her own family. You truly feel like you are back in the 60/70s where the food is real, and they know your name.

We haven’t been to Friendly’s in quite a long time. As we have been quite busy not because of any other reason. The food was great the service was great the place was clean and so were the bathrooms. Had a nice time there.

Updated: The ice cream was still On Point! I strongly suggest not eating actual food here. My salad was wilted beyond recognition and the tomatoes were really past their use by day. I politely sent it back and asked it to be removed from the bill. The waitress didn’t seem to understand why and brought the salad to a CO worker or manager and discussed why I didn’t want the salad within ear shot of me. I had to explain a little more loudly why I no longer wanted a salad. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. They really used to have very good food but that has certainly changed. Nothing was good by any means. And I regretted being so hungry when we sat down because I should have stuck to the ice cream. I received 1 cup of water through my entire dining experience. I finished it pretty quickly and set the cup in the end of the table and any other waitress would have noticed this and refilled without asking or at least asked if I needed a refill. Our waitress did neither so I waited to see if she would eventually and I’m sorry to say that NO she never figured it out. Even after I ordered the PB cup Sundae with extra PB sauce and hunka-chunka PB fudge ice cream. Sounds like something that would leave you super thirsty right? Be wary of this classic eatery. And stay out of the bathrooms unless it’s an emergency.

The signs need to be changed. They didn’t do breakfast anymore.

Disappointed that they stopped serving all day breakfast since that was what we were craving. Other than that the waitress was great and the food was good.

The food was better than I remember it from years ago. It was $100 with desert for 3 adults and a 2 year old. Not the best price, but not bad.
