A new American-style restaurant with a twist, has opened in town and is run by some familiar faces. Over in Hamden Stephen Barraco and Michael Migliaro run Café Amici an Italian restaurant that has been around for the past 11 years. The two decided to look into North Haven to start their second restaurant Amici Tavern which opened its doors to the public on Nov. 15 2015. With an already popular restaurant, Barraco and Migliaro wanted to open something different. That’s when the idea for an all-American Steak House Tavern was born.

Pork and goat cheese empanadas were great, as were the tavern burger and Korean chicken sandwich. Opted for Brussels sprouts as the side for my sandwich and they were crispy and plentiful!

Ordered a burger well done and i got a medium rare patty. The place was empty, so I dont see why they couldnt cook the meat to specification. Will definately not return, i dont eat raw hamburger

Meh. I would describe the food as average. Like on par with Ruby Tuesday or other such chains. Not that it was bad, but with so many other better restaurants in the area, it is unlikely we will ever return.

We hosted a baby shower at Amici’s Middletown this past weekend. It was fabulous!! The staff was very helpful while we set up decorations and gracious during the party to us & guests. Thank you all, especially to the serving team that came down to Middletown from Avon. Highly recommend!!

This is an odd place, to be honest driven by many times always thought it was a residential home or a small law or medical office looks just like a house. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and calm. When I first walked it seemed like a local bar more then a restaurant but once seated in dining area the whole scene changed. I would definitely go back and enjoy another meal here.

Delicious meal and friendly staff. Grilled romaine salad with Blackened chicken was excellent. My daughter said the bacon cheeseburger was the best she’s ever eaten and my hubby loved the pastrami burger.
