Ah, what a shame. This place used to be an absolute gem. I’m not sure what happened, but the service and food quality have taken a major nosedive. It’s disheartening to see the place now; it gives off the vibe of a struggling establishment that’s caught in the middle of shutting down, yet still has inventory to clear out. Initially, I brushed it off, thinking it was just an off day, as we all have those from time to time. However, it saddens me to say that this downward trend seems to be a consistent issue now.

I walked in was greeted! Place smelled delicious! Sweet gentlemen who took my order. I ordered pizza, but when I tried to order non pizza stuff they were out. So I was like ok it’s a pizza place, I’ll settle for just pizza!. Then when I get my order it just looks so sad . Looked like pizza from the frozen section at grocery store. Taste was okay… I liked the chuckee cheese pizza I had last week much better .

As soon as we walked in we were greeted and given a menu! We selected/paid for what we wanted and found seats downstairs right away. We were checked on constantly and felt very comfortable. The pizza took about 10 to 15 minutes to come out and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Athena and it was great! All the ingredients listed were on each slice and yes the crust was thin but it didn’t take away from the way the pizza tasted. They accidentally gave us BBQ wings (didn’t pay for them) but allowed us to keep them. They were bomb as well. They had a great selection of drinks- she gave me a sample of their margarita (so good). The cookie at the end was gone before we left, I love chocolate chunks and nuts. Overall, I will be back if I’m in the area.

Went here with a group yesterday, bought 2 slices. One was decent, the other was exactly like the most recent posts. Raw unmelted cheese as I ate it, totally disgusting and not worth the $7-8 they charge per slice. Ended up making me violently ill when I got home. Gave me intense stomach pain for multiple hours until I finally threw up. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but had to be honest. Think twice before going here unless they change things up.

Southside Flying Pizza has good pizza, but we were mistreated and had our money taken from us. We ordered an extra large pizza and was given a large pizza. We did catch this until it was too late. They didn’t give us a receipt so there was no proof of our purchase. Too bad of a situation. I would give them a try again but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. I would not recommend to my friends or family.

Loved this place when it first opened but haven’t been back in a while. Updating my previous five star review. Each visit feels like a roll of the dice. Quality is variable, they’re often out of stock, service can be painfully bad. Hope management can turn things around.

Staff is always very friendly and generous. The pizza is consistently delicious and fresh. Probably my favorite marinara sauce in Houston. Easily top 3 mozzarella sticks I’ve had in my life.
