We originally came here the first time for the special Valentine’s Day menu but we wanted to try Kau Kau again with the traditional menu. We ordered the musubi, sliders, garlic shrimp, and chicken Katsu. The service is incredible! we really felt taken care of. The food was great! The sauce that comes with the chicken is different from our usual experience but it really is a game changer. Everything tasted fresh, and you really do get an itch to try everything from the menu. Hope to return to try the brunch items

Alooooohhhaaa! This hidden gem serves seriously ono-licious Hawaiian fare! If you’re craving authentic island flavors this place will not disappoint! Everything is delicious – they make their own “Spam” in house (they call it sham) and it’s soooo flavorful! I’m partial to the garlic shrimp and loco moco but seriously you can’t go wrong. Try the Kalua Pork sliders and Ahi Poke bowl (hint – it makes a great shareable appetizer if you get it salad style). Oh and save room for dessert because they have mini malasadas (Portuguese/Hawaiian donuts) that are made to order and come with homemade ice cream! The environment and staff truly exude the Aloha spirit.

We went for the first time on a Friday night on a double date with friends. We had SUCH a great time. None of us are drinking right now so we all had Hawaiian Suns. I had the Spam plate (with homemade Spam – sooooo good) and everyone was loving their food. The mac salad is bomb. We ended up getting dessert too – I forgot the name but there were flavors of coffee, mac nuts, a homemade blondie involved + ice cream – we ate it all up! Will definitely go again. Thank you for the hospitality!

This place…where do I start. How do you rate something that is perfect? The food, service and atmosphere is all EXCELLENT. If you have the pleasure of meeting Chris the owner, you’re about to have one of the best dining experiences of your life. Everything was delicious, I can’t wait to go back for their dinner menu!! This is a picture of the French toast and a half order of the Loco moco (which usually sells out extremely fast) both 5/5 some of the best food I’ve ever had!

Really enjoyed lunch here. The main host fella was so nice, had that skill where he makes jokes and small talk without it feeling fake. Took about 20 minutes to get a seat, they were fully packed. They were out of malasadas and manapua, unfortunately, but explained that they’re still working on streamlining the recipe. We got the POG mimosas, chicken katsu and mac nut waffle, spam musubi, half order moco loco, and the guava ice cream and something. Really great food. I think the bar guy forgot about us talking to his lady friends but that’s OK because host guy helped us. Left with a buzz so walked over to the antique place.

In a nutshell; Food’s pretty good. Servers were nice and accommodating. The feel and look of the place is neat. It is rather small having everyone seated being relatively close. I don’t mean to eaves drop on people’s conversations but can’t help not to when being seated rather close. Overall looking forward to the place progress overtime.

I’d say the food here is alright. My husband had the Kalua pork and I had the salmon bowl. My salmon bowl needed more salmon to be worth the price and his pork dish really needed a sauce or something since it was dry. The spam musubi appetizer was our favorite part and the lilikoi tart that we took to go was actually quite tasty as well.

Good stuff. Mac salad was good. Katsu was perfectly fried. I would do the curry the sauce on the side. It’s not bad, but it’s a not quite as good as other Japanese curry, and detracted from the flavor for me. Huli Huli Chicken is very tender but it mmm the sauce can be a bit sweet if one isn’t used to it. Slaw is good.
