Excellent place to dine for authentic Mexican food. The owner has artist artwork and paintings all over the premises. Name of the artist/painter is Yup Ruffini Tamayo! Named the restaurant after him. Enjoy!!!

Love the food, atmosphere and service here. Best place to eat in East LA, hands down. The best meal value-wise is the nacho platter, but honestly I’ve never gotten a meal here I wasn’t happy with. It’s a good place to go relax with friends or family and the dining area is spacious which is nice.

Pretty good upscale Mexican place. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. Everything I have had, has been really good. The staff is very courteous and friendly!

One of my favorite places to dine. Great menu selection, everything made to order. Philipe is the head waiter, he is the best, just introduce yourself and he will do what it takes to satisfy your dining experience. Nice atmosphere, use to be an art gallery, plenty of dining space and restaurant is very clean. Secure valet parking or you can park on street. Nice comfortable bar with TV’s to watch your favorite sports.

Came here for my brother’s graduation dinner on a Friday. It was fairly empty, there is only valet parking. The area surrounding the restaurant is not what you’d expect from the incredible service you get once entering this establishment. The outdoor facade/ look is not appealing. The place looks as if it was a repurposed motel building made into a fine dining Mexican restaurant. The place is pretty big with plenty of seating for large parties. The interior is much more appealing to the eye with large canvased paintings of Mexican artists. My favorite was the recreation of The Last Supper but with abstract pineapples.

Absolutely spectacular. A must visit for locals and tourists alike. The mole sauce is the best on the planet. Ask them the origin of the recipe.

My children took me here for my birthday. I’ve been dying to go here for some time now. I am so glad we did! The service was excellent, the food was amazing and I love the ambiance! This is a great restaurant for a date night. Plus you get to look at art! I hope they open soon for dinner services. I plan on returning!

Everything I have tried from the salads to the salmon are wonderful! A true experience for those that love food, art and an unbelievably beautiful restaurant! We take all we ant to impress for business meetings to Tamayos. A true gem in East LA!
