The Loop was the first restaurant opened by Rocket Restaurant Group in 2006. We like to take credit for the boom that happened in the North Loop in the late 2000’s but that probably isn’t the case. We have an upbeat fun vibe with great food, drinks and people. Come get IN THE LOOP!

I’ve been in once or twice before for drinks and dinner so when it came time to make a reservation for brunch during Minneapolis Pride it made sense.

Made reservations for my birthday dinner called and confirmed reservations prior to the dinner. I was contacted 15-20 minutes before our reservation to let us know they are canceling due to a toilet flooding. Not only that the lady on the phone said that manager would send a gift card for the inconvenience which was never received. Wish they could’ve had better customer service or at the very least don’t cancel last minute with a party of 15.

My wife got the chicken asadi tacos with rice w cilantro lime, and i got the smashburger with mac and cheese. My wife loved her food. The tacos were amazing, and the cilantro lime rice was another level. I had the smashburger with mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was really good. Unfortunately, the smash burger wasn’t a smash burger at all. I asked the waitress, and she said the frozen patty that was warmed up and put on the bun was it. Ya, definitely not a smashburger, lol. Hopefully, I am an anomally and other people get an actual smashburger, or they take it off their menu.

We came midday and it was quite empty, as expected. The menu is a little all over the place, with no specific theme. We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was probably the worst we’ve ever had, and we always get it if it’s on a menu. The salad was huge so that was good, but the lack of a food specialty or theme makes it feel like there’s nothing you can get here that particularly stands above similar items elsewhere. We went because we had a coupon but would not return without.

The loops menu consists of what I would Call regular bar food, but prepare much much better than the standard bar food. They have your hamburgers, many different varieties if you get your chicken wings and get pizza etc. all done to chef quality but this is actually a big bar and that’s where it gets to the garden area for a relaxing nice atmosphere try it you like it

One more coaster taken advantage of. We just lunched at The Loop in Minneapolis and I had one of the BEST apps I have ever tasted. A,n egg roll skin stuffed with chicken, herbs, and cream, cheese and lightly drizzled in Buffalo sauce. I could eat 50 of them dang things. The pizza, was also awesome with a very unique basil pesto sauce covering chicken, bacon, and a 3 cheese blend. Washer her down with some Loon Juice (made from honeycrisp apples) from Spring Valley Minnesota. Another win!

Came to dine with a few friends for the 1st time and had a wonderful experience. Food was so awesome I decided to bring my fiancé the following night. As we approached the door we were told we could not gain entry due to my sweat pants. I spoke to the manager who informed me that they have a dress code. Management was very nonchalant about the issue. I explained that I had previously visited the restaurant and there was no dress code and that I actually drove almost an hour from shakopee to dine there specifically. My problem is if you are going to have a dress code it needs to be posted or at the very least placed on the website. This really ruined what was supposed to be a special night with my spouse. I would understand if this was a 5 start restaurant. Although it is a nice place, it is definitely not an upscale restaurant that deserves a dress code. I am very disappointed and hopeful you will take this seriously and post your dress code instead of having someone tell you at the door l. Seem very made up.
