This is my 2cd review of this place. The first was about the gumbo but will not get into that now. Born and raised in South Louisiana and travel all over the country for work. I love finding restaurants that advertise Cajun food. I can, at times, be overly critical when it comes to my cultures food. Any true coona– would be. This place has Cajun all over the it. Down to pre-made roux. So I ordered the crawfish etouffee, one of my personal favorites, off the menu. It came with a nice size portion BUT I noticed one small exception, the crawfish. I will post a picture and allow anyone to zoom in and see if you can locate 4. OK, let’s see if the taste can compensate for the lack of the main ingredient? Sorry to say the answer is NO. It was exactly spaghetti sauce. It might have been OK for an Italian restaurant but not an advertised Cajun restaurant. I was only able to take two bites before I asked the sweet lil waitress if she had brought me the wrong dish. Poor lil girl was super apologetic and asked if she wanted me to take it off my bill. Told her that it would be nice being as I wasn’t going to eat it. I then asked if I could order another item to go. I ordered the large Red Beans and rice. She brought it in a brown paper bag and handed me a bill for $12.06. I tipped the waitress $5 for being so apologetic as it wasn’t her fault. I paid and went directly back to my hotel room and removed the contents of that bag. Picture with the LARGE red beans and rice next to my to-go drink. You decide for yourself on that one. The red beans were outstanding, but everything tastes great when you are as hungry as I was leaving this place. So far, none of the seafood items are anything to go out of your way, ESPECIALLY the etouffee. Stick with the red beans and rice.

We had a great experience at Bayou Boys for dinner. Michelle was our server and was so sweet and attentive. The crab legs and fried green tomatoes were fantastic. They made the best bloody mary that went perfectly with dinner. For dessert, we had bread pudding smothered in rum sauce. The pricing was more than reasonable, and we got more than enough food for what we paid. Overall, it was wonderful, and we will be back soon.

Wonderful experience. Hands down best seafood in the area. Very fresh. The alligator was tender, I’ve had very chewy from other establishments. The fried oysters were PERFECT. We were served Very large platters full of crab ,shrimp ,and crab claws.

First time here after living here for a year… Have NO idea why we waited! Our dinner was amazing… Seriously BEST shrimp and grits I’ve ever had – including my own. The shrimp were also tender and perfectly done. We also had crawfish etouffe and a cup of gumbo. Wow! Now, after reading reviews, we need to try the rest of the whole menu!

Couldn’t ask for a better pace to eat at. The service is the best in the Tri-cities. You have to try their alligator bites and swamp fries. So far everything we have ever tried has been awesome. Birthdays are awesome also. Let them know and you get a special treat. Very family friendly, great atmosphere, the best food ad value with excellent service. What more could someone ask for.

My party enjoyed the fried sampler platter to a boiled pot and also a chicken Alfredo. Our meal was hot when arriving to the table and very well seasoned. On the sampler platter I enjoyed everything but the fried fish. The boiled pot was quickly devoured and it was very enjoyed. All in all we had a good experience and we would do it again. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Moved back home from Louisiana in December 2021 and was soooo happy to find this place! The food is the only thing I was really gonna miss about living down there and thanks to bayou boys I don’t have to go without it. Everything we’ve had is absolutely amazing (especially the crawfish boil)! If you don’t check out bayou boys you’re missing out!

Very disappointing. Looked forward to having the best and freshest seafood as their reviews had said but everything was a huge turn off. Fried food platter was a huge pile of “guess what you’re eating” with sauce coming in plastic tubs. No fresh oystersbut offered battered instead which meant they were not fresh enough to eat but safe enough to eat cooked. The catfish meunierre was good enough and the fried shrimp platter with fries were nothing special but edible. Not worth the travel and not a good seafood restaurant.
