First visit during lunch. Enjoyed the soft corn tacos. I had barbacoa, lengua and beef fajita. Very tender and flavorful. The tortilla was soft and had a nice, fresh taste. Chips and pico was also good and fresh. Barbacoa was my favorite, but all was satisfying. The price is a steal for the quality. I definitely recommend this spot. Be patient with the service.

Yum Yum Yum. Took a chance on this place as we drove by and what a pleasant surprise. The is deceiving. Thought it was empty from the outside but it was full. Ordered menudo and a carnitas torta. I will say the torta is the closest thing I’ve eaten to a torta de pierna en SLP. They had a salsa bar where you grab your chips and can select from a number of salsas. My favorite was the Salsa Fresca. Service was great and lots of staff. Food moves so you know it’s fresh. I’ll will definitely be back. Want to try the caldo de res next time!

I absolutely adore tacos!! So when I noticed this place after leaving my pawpaw’s house a few days ago, I knew I had to have a taste, and I’m so glad I did!! I was so hungry, i forgot to take pictures. The tacos were delicious. They have a variety of meat choices, and the Cecina Fried rice was banging!! They have a full bar with an impressive tequila collection. The only thing I would suggest is to have at least one bilingual speaking waiter or waitress. It makes ordering less awkward for the waiter and customers, and the customer can trust that the waiter received their order correctly… With that being said, I will definitely be back in a few days, lol.

I’m an out of towner, staying in a nearby hotel. I love coming to Houston for it’s always amazingly delicious food- especially tacos! This place did NOT disappoint. The salsa was fresh and so were the tacos. I ordered 4 mini tacos al pastor. They were absolutely delicious and if I lived in the area, I’d definitely be back. The service was quick and the staff was friendly! Loved it.

The atmosphere was beautiful. Not too much decor. The staff were all beautiful souls and maybe I’m saying this after have ONE sex on the beach but they welcomed us with smiles (not overly friendly). They gave us our space but came on time before we had to look up for a drink. It felt like visiting tia y abuela. The music wasn’t the stereotypical Mexican restaurant music. It was authentic if that make any sense. I will be back with my family next time.

While in Houston for the first time, I stopped by the Tacos Cecina restaurant. I walked in and stood at the counter at the entrance to be seated. There were several waitresses and waiters that made eye contact with me, then looked away. I thought to myself, perhaps they were very busy and would come over and invite me over to be seated eventually. Granted, there were many seats available, but they didn’t acknowledge me. I stood at the door for 10 minutes, and no one came to invite me to sit or even told me I could “sit at any open seat,” as restaurants normally do. I left, of course, being very confused as to what happened.
